Just to confirm I will be competing in this one, I love the USA stages but I`ve always struggled with Japan. Looks a good event though . . I`m just off to the shop for some milk and as soon as I get back I`ll put the kettle on, then my rally will start. A brief insight to my interesting day :)

Bruce D
15th December 2010, 10:46
Just wondering if Loeb tells the service crew to put the kettle on when he leaves the service park. :p

tannat
15th December 2010, 17:48
Upon retirement of any stage in the rally competitors may wish to use superally to continue onwards in the event.

1) For the stage on which the retirement occurs and every remaining stage for that day a penalty of the slowest non retirement time acheived on that stage + 30 seconds will be assigned to the retiring competitor.

2) Timing will proceed as normal for the remainder of the rally barring any further retirments.

Any questions? :D

Bruce D
15th December 2010, 17:58
So if you crash out on the first stage of the day you can't do any of the other stages that day?

tannat
15th December 2010, 19:23
So if you crash out on the first stage of the day you can't do any of the other stages that day?

No-I like this definition. You wreck on a stage and your car is 'rebuilt' by your crew for the rest of the day...

A bit harsh, but hey-you still get the chance to complete the rally.

This is an approximation of actual WRC Superally rules, is it not?

pettersolberg29
15th December 2010, 20:10
I think that's a good rule change.

Bruce D

With great regret, I am withdrawing my entry for this event. I have tried adjusting the settings for my steering wheel and pedals, but to no avail.

RBR is hard enough with a properly functioning steering wheel, but when it is not working, it is simply un-playable.

Well finished my rally. Was eventful being off the road fairly often, but at least I got it to the finish.

Rooster-what is up?

I cannot adjust the sensitivity of the throttle and brake pedals. The steering wheel originally didn't center properly, but when I recalibrated it via Windows device manager, the pedals messed up, so if touch the pedal ever-so-slightly, it responds with full throttle

in the control options in RBR, the bar for throttle fills up when the throttle is touched lightly. I cannot adjust my speed properly in the stages, which makes the game even harder than it already is.

Sounds as if you are getting digital input on your throttle..

Have you tried adjusting the throttle using the fade settings in the RBR options menu?

Bruce D
17th December 2010, 05:22
Yeah that does sound like the fade settings are wrong. Have a look at the graph, if it goes up at an angle but a perfect line then it's wrong. There needs to be a curve to it. The bigger the curve the better. Presumably the brakes lock easily too?

Neil J
19th December 2010, 09:45
I`ve finished my rally too, there`s was lots of "oooohs, ahhhhs, fu..s , noooos and sh.. s" along the way. I went for it from the off on SS1 but realised that if I was to make the finished I`d have to pace myself when SS3 was just full of visits to to scenery with mistakes, I thought that stage would never end . . . Had plenty of spins along the way but I was generally happy to maintain a pace I felt pleased with, I know I can go a little faster, not much faster though :)

A field of seven competitors took to the difficult and challenging stages of the Acropolis rally for what proved to be a demanding three days of competition.

Day 1 opened with a stage win for PS29 followed by NeverKnow, now driving for Subaru. Newcomer LCDin on older Corolla was just a few clicks off the pace followed by an inspired Neil J in another Subaru. The Citroens finished SS1 within three seconds of each other (Tannat leading Bruce D) and Steve Spackman (SS) trailed slightly behind in an older Subaru model.

23rd December 2010, 19:52
Stage two saw Nevrknow take the stage and the lead, as PS29 ran into trouble and finished the stage 5th behind LCD, Bruce D and Tannat. Neil J took 6th fastest on the stage ahead of SS in the older Subaru.

Neverknow leads the rally, with a very close battle for 2nd between PS29 and LCD, Bruce D with an 8s second lead over Tannat, followed by Neil J and SS.

PS29 got his game back on for SS3, with the Peugeot driver taking 2nd spot at the end of day 1 ahead of LCD with a stage win. NeverKnow still held first at the day's end finishing the stage 2nd. LCD kept his good drive moving forward with 3rd for the stage and the day. Tannat finished SS3 ahead of fellow Citroen driver Bruce D, but ended the day just over six seconds in arrears. the Subaraus of neil J and SS took 6th and 7th at the close of day 1. SS retired on SS3 and required the use of superally to continue the event.

Day 2 opened with PS29 maintining his end of day 1 form, winning the stage with over three seconds in hand from LCD. Neil J took the stage 3rd followed by neverKnow, Bruce D, and Tannat a significant drop back finishing the stage 6th, followed by the Subaru of SS.

Overall NeverKnow still lead but by the slimmest of margins over PS29, LCD was on his own in third. In the batle of the Citroens Bruce D had almost 15 seconds in hand over Tannat with Neil J and SS in 6th and 7th.

NeverKnow reaffirmed his commitment with a 7+ second stage win on SS5 over PS29, who was followed closely by the Toyota of LCD, less than a second behind. Good stage for Neil J, who himself was less than a second behind LCD. Tannat gained 2+ seconds on Bruce D on the stage, with SS just over a second behind the Citroen.

NeverKnow maintained his steady run with another stage win, extending his rally lead to 11+ seconds over PS29. LCD finished the stage just clicks behind PS29, with the Citroen pair setting essentially the same time for the stage. Neil J finished a bit further back followed by SS.

At the days close the order was neverKnow-PS29-LCD-BruceD-Tannat-NeilJ-SS with three stages left to go...

PS29 opened the day with a head full of steam, winning SS7 by over 40 seconds and taking the rally lead from NeverKnow by over 30 seconds. LCD finished the stage slightly ahead of neverknow, but still trailed him overall by nearly a minute. Tannat took the stage 4th fastest ahead of Neil J and Bruce D, in a move that was to place him 4 seconds ahead of his Citroen mounted rival. Neil J and SS maintained their positions in the overall standings.

Another stage win for the Peugeot driver, 13+seconds quicker than LCD, 18+ seconds ahead of Tannat, 20+ seconds ahead of neverKnow, 26+ seconds ahead of Bruce D, 28+ seconds ahead of Neil J, with SS finishing the stage over a minute behind Neil J.

Overall PS29 stretched his lead to almost a minute over NeverKnow, followed by LCD another +40 seconds in arrears in third. Tannat had not too much breathing room with Bruce D less than 12 seconds behind, then came the Subarus of Neil J and SS.

Stage win and match for PS29. He completed the stage 12+ seconds ahead of LCD and won the rally. neverKnow finished the stage 4th fastest and second overall in the rally in his first drive for Subaru. Finshing with second fastest time on the stage and third in the rally was LCD with a fine drive in the Toyota. Bruce D finished the final stage third, but it wasn't enough to help him in his battle with Tannat, the American finishing 4th overall ahead of the South African with less than six second separating the two Citroens. A good drive by Neil J to 6th as well as SS in seventh-a welcome newcomer to the series.

The tarmac rounds will not be very creative. Will probably make one absolutely dry and one a mix.. Will have to use the France stages for both...

What a battle that was - like a real rally. Great stage reports too Tannat! Happy with the win - my pace on Pirka Menoko made the difference again as every other stage was close. Well done to all - great to have 7 finishers - I'm treating this as importantly as the MF Cup now due to the better entry. This championship seems like the equivalent of the IRC - less reputation but better battles and entry numbers!

Great fight between Tannat and myself (we always seem to find each other on the leaderboard somehow). Special mention to Neil J, I thought those were some impressive leg 2 times. Overall I'm pleased that I finished but I need to nail Tannat on the next one. My day 3 times were surprisingly poor.

Congrats to ps29 once again!
Second place for me is great. It was very nice to win SS (which I haven't managed in a while) with the P2000 and I liked how the subie handled on most of the stages. But unfortunately on slower stages like tanner and pirko minoko (stages which I have never liked) proved that I really have to rethink my approach on those stages.
Looking forward to the next rally.

Well done PS29 on the win, infact well done everyone. Yeah what a rally, a real good entry and some excellent close times set, I was so excited in the build up to the results thanks to Tannats rally report and could hardly wait to read the next stage times after I found myself to be reasonably competative. Thanks for the mention Bruce. I loved the stages and now I`m really looking forward to the next round, I must practise though, I have plenty of time as I`ve finished work till the new year, I really need to work on a little car set up and hopefully my speed and confidence will improve.

Again, thanks to eveyone and have a wonderful Christmas :)
