Temperatures can drop below -25 degrees Celsius on this event but the special challenge of the frozen roads makes it one of the most popular among drivers. Despite the ice and snow-covered stages, speeds are still frighteningly quick thanks to metal studded tyres which bite through the soft surface into the hard-packed ground below.

The event also features snow banks which drivers use as soft barriers on which to 'lean' their cars around corners. There are plenty of hazards, though. Hit a snow bank at the wrong speed and it can bite back, filling radiators with snow or sucking the car in completely. If this happens, the driver and co-driver reach for the shovels they are required to carry on board.

As with the fast gravel roads of neighbouring Finland, local talent prevails here, and the winners' list looks like a Scandinavian phone book. To succeed in Sweden, you need a sublime combination of commitment, fingertip feel and lightning reactions.

I have finished my rally. My aim was learn the car little bit more and try to reach the finish. I managed that but I had few incidents along the way.

Day one went without major troubles, only few small driving mistakes. SS5 on second day went well but on SS6 I managed to get one corner terribly wrong and nearly finishing my rally prematurely.

Everything went well until about 6,5k into the stage when I went little too fast into a corner. I hit the snowbank quite hard and it just flipped the car over. I also managed to hit a tree when the car was rolling. The car ended on the side in the forest but in the hope I could somehow continue, I called for little help from the spectators. It took some time and I got back on the road but I had broken suspension and heavily damaged bodywork. Most importantly I managed to finish the stage because we don't have Superrally on this event.

On the next stage I tried to keep my focus because the conditions were a lot slippery. I managed to spun early into the stage. The rest of the rally went incident free mostly but like on the first day, I managed to do occasionaly few driving mistakes.

Some multimedia from my rally:

Some of the snow is like powder-and some of it is like brick...

Sorry you found the brick-like snow, NeverKnow...

I've just finished my rally. The bad weather brought out bad driving-multiple rolls and spins, esepcially if there was a bump involved. I toned down my aggression and focused on just completing the stages smoothly in the end.

Could never get the Xsara's handling to my liking-rear was too loose...

As far as I can work it out from the replay, the snowbank itself was quite softish. But there was something underneath the snowbank that lifted right side wheels from the ground enough for the car to roll. I find that it is much easier to roll original RBR cars than the newer modded cars even though the mass of the cars should be almost the same. Maybe the CoG is lower on the modded cars...

Finished my rally a couple of days ago. I pushed as hard as I could just for fun to see how fast I could go, but unfortunately I couldn't get any PBs. Cautious on the bumps after a few early half spins but no major rolls or crashes to talk of.

Also finished my rally. I pushed really hard from the off, too hard infact, I was determine to be fast, I guess I was over driving, stage 1 I felt pretty quick and was happy, stage 2 was a disaster, I sempt unable to keep it on the road, lost loads of time and was struggling with the car, it was in poor shape just like my driving. Stage 3 was just as bad as I was trying to make up lost time, infact I was loosing more time than I was making up, I was sooooo slow toward the end of the stage I had to give up. So I regret but I finish with a retirement.

Guys, it's Thanksgiving Holidays here in the states, and I cannot gaurantee I will be able to do a full rundown of the results until Monday. But taking a glance at the times it is certain PS29 will take the win. I am 95% confident in saying NeverKnow will take second over myself, but it may be close.

I'll do my best to give this attention over the next few days.

Cheers,

Tannat

I'm gonna enter round 3 tannat :)

A suggestion about low entry's; why not allow cars from the czech website or the individual cars from rallyesim, but ban RSRBR? I know PS29 has had problems with RSRBR and I imagine other users have as well. It could boost entry's...

NeverKnow

It is mod free because people who had RBR on consoles could also enter this competition. Using modded cars from czech or rallyesim would put them in a disadvantage.

Apologies for the delay guys..

Not much to this rally. PS29 lead from stage one and never looked back. A bit of back and forth of stage times between Tannat and NeverKnow, but in the end the Mitsubishi driver took second with Tannat third.

Neil J participated but retired during the rally.
