Not a fan of him or his vids, but Ken Block's new Escort Cosworth Rally car is interesting.

"It’s been reimagined as a present-day WRC machine and boasts several aero tweaks including widebody arches and a big diffuser at the back. Beneath the bonnet is a proper period-correct Cosworth four-pot, but it’s tuned to make 371 horsepower. Shifting is handled by a six-speed sequential box as opposed to the seven-speed used in his previous car".

Does anyone know where one might acquire images of drivers (not cars) for "commercial" usage? Anyone here have taken any and are willing to share them for a reasonable price? I'm interested in doing some concept work for my portfolio and I really don't want to go the usual just "lend images from google" road.

No, you need to have an account to download. When I write articles to rallit.fi I’m allowed to use that and the team media banks. For my blog I use only creative commons stuff or amateur pictures that I have a permission to use.

Thanks for your responses. RedBull Content Pool and Team media banks, while having the best selection, only provide images for "editorial" use. In my concept, images would be part of design, sort of driver profile images morphed into user interface, so the commercial license applies. Regarding Google, Wiki Commons and Flickr license filtering, they are not really that trustworthy. In Wiki commons, a lot of "authors own work" is not really theirs and I've been in hot waters using photos from Flickr before, as photographers aren't even aware a lot of times that their work is subject to any kind of licensing.
You mentioned using amateur pictures that you have a permission to use, AnttiL, do you have some certain people you go to for images or do you see what you like and get in contact?

I seem to remember two Delta's on the RAC that weren't in Martini livery, one was Russell Brookes with the familiar Andrews Heat For Hire livery he had on Opel Mantas, but I think it was earlier than 1990.

The other I think was Per Eklund & it was in Camel Cigarettes colours, but with the 'Camel' replaced by 'Eklund' because of tobacco advertising restrictions - this one I think was early 1990's... maybe.

SS Lefktra, near the finish. I was sitting beside the photographer. The photo shows only a very small part of the truth. The chasm that Juha jumped using the small bridge wall was more than three meters long. One of the craziest things I have seen in WRC.

... and now I am uploading the full Ford collection from 1973-2024 ytd., and so far there are 28 pages.

All the rest of the manufacturers that have ever participated in the WRC, will follow after the HUGE Ford collection is done.
