View Full Version : TOCA 2 Series-New season

After thinking it over, I have decided to carry on the TOCA 2 series started by tannat. I've come up with some ideas for the new season, most rules will be the same, but with some key differences, which are:

Players can choose any car they so desire. To avoid a field of Renaults, there will be a manufacturers and a new teams championship to encourage different car choices.

Each round will have two 3 lap races although it is likely I will throw in the odd endurance race mid-season and at the end of the series.

Feedback most welcome...

This sounds good, IRooster. I would proceed as you suggest

I wont commit to a full season but I might enter a few rounds. I'm too busy with my F1 career these days.

No problem, do as many rounds as you so desire

I think the new F1 game is keeping people out of a few offline championships... :(

Except me :D

Perhaps I should introduce a 'drop score', or have less rounds.

Drop scores are a good idea

What's a 'drop score'..?

say there are 10 rounds in a championship, and you score in all 10, you don't count the lowest scoring round.

If you ever watch the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, they have a system like this.

Only so many events out of the total count-ie you can 'drop' your worst score.

Bruce uses this in RBR

I'm afraid that I won't even put my name down for this. Attempting to be part of Tannat's championship highlighted how difficult I find it to commit to playing a certain game x times a week.

No problem. I might just do a small TOCA 2 Cup, instead of a long season.

Also as I said, I just have to see how many rounds I could do. My move to Germany will start when I just get the paper war done and after that it still takes some time when everything has kinda been organised and I can even consider to start playing again.

Still the championship sounds good and hopefully enough people will be playing but I would also probably be a part timer if I am. Christmas time is also coming and this is always a very tricky time to start anything. The people who example play at holiday season, mostly gets new games to play for some weeks before start to return for others.

If this thing goes ahead, then it will most likely be in January or February. But even then I have my doubts about a decent grid size...
