No. 1 for Prokop in Zastava Yugo!!!!! :eek:
Solide list for the last rally, I must admit I'm positive surprised about P.Longhi, nowebody expected him as he is already a Slovenian champion.
Prokop&Kresta are the biggest atractions for this rally, no doubt about that.
And yes, after many years of yust observing rallies it is very nice to see my name on the list. I yust hope for a dry conditions, for myselve and spectators...

Where is Esapekka Lappi on Saaremaa-rally? His name disappear from the results after SS5, and he's not listed on retired either.

I spent my sunny yet autumnal Saturday in Parkano spectating last event in Finnish Rallysprint championship. Managed to find a nice corner, last one of the course, a tightening left. I saw two rolls and one off, before I got there two other rolls had occured. Before the final event top 4 driver were in equal points, but once again - for at least 6th time - Tomi Hallia pulled through to the championship title with his amazing first run.

Ok, thanks. Perhaps the results page isn't updating too fast. I can now see Lappi's name on retired list, but there's no mention of him on SS7 results which is weird.

Ups, then it was SS7 already, I remember something about it from the radio. It was the longest Undva stage..and the most difficult one in my view.

But on retired list it's listed "SS8 - off". But it doesn't change anything - at least he was driving his full on his first 4WD outing.

Saarenmaa looks like a miserable event for Printsport, both Lappi and Korhonen out with some proper damage... Shame for Lappi, he was doing very well in his first proper rally with 4WD, just look at those stage times before going off.

Saaremaa rally was very good as usually, and many mistakes, uhhh, on SS5 only 2 cars form top 25 didnt make a mistake in front of me (Ott Tänak and Margus Murakas) other 23 missed turning or brakeing point and went wide or off. Car no. 14 went way too fast into corner and crashed, car took fire and stage was stopped for 20 minutes, and it was only 25 cars.....Later Esa Uski crashed in the same spot and onthers made mistakes too. :) Whole rally was just a pleasure!

Interesting combination of drivers/co-drivers there. Prokop with co-driver of Peták, Peták with co-driver of Prokop and Kresta again with son of their sponsor Honda (it's just a nickname) who he was carrying last year in rallysprints. For me it's a pity because You can't drive fast if You can't trust Your co-driver.

The fist stage of the morning turned out to be deciding for the results of Rally Kosice. Bouffier hit a chicane, damaged suspension and rear part of his Peugeot. On the very same stage Kajto and Grzyb had to change tyres. Solowow is the new leader of the rally. But who will be the Polish champion now?

I had a very nice rally in Idrija . First of all , Alex Humar is fantastic in the Fabia R2 , it looks as he developed the car ! He is extremely fast and attractive , as always . About Prokop - he was not on the level of the top Yugo drivers , but I don't think anybody expected that since it a very difficult car to drive fast . Secondly , I must say it seemed to me like his Yugo isn't exactly the same spec as the first couple of Yugos . As it is a lot down on power , what can our Slovenian friends say about that ? All in all , he was good :) And I think he bought the Yugo ;)

I'm sorry that Czech Roman Kresta (rear diff), Finn Jarkko Miettinen (gearbox), Darko Peljhan (geabox) and Aleks Humar (flat tyre) did not show their full potencial. It was a nice rally and - yes, Italian Piero Longhi is a new Slovenian Champion!

You did your maths right Mirek . Humar was really a class higher than anyone else in the rally . Also I must note that Friderik Vajnhandl , 2WD champion , has become a really good driver this year :)

And a short comment over Rally Idrija from my side, this time as a driver: I finished, came to the end, I returned the car back to the owner intact (thanks god...), we had some difficulties in the morning with a cold engine start, but otherwise the car worked perfectly. As this was my second rally on the drivers side(after seven years), the result was not important to me (and I wasn't the last).
A lot of spectators, especially on the SS in the city center. Longhi was in a class of its own, Humar is apparently best Slovenian driver, fingers crossed for him for 2012 to get back S2000 car.
And a big thank to all three Czech drivers, they were enrichment in this rally. Maybe next year they will came back with their usual cars....they are always welcome!!

The final round of the Austrian Championship 2011 - Rallye Waldviertel - took place this weekend. Austrian Champion 2011, Beppo Harrach (Mitsubishi Lancer R4), scored his sixth victory this season. Manfred Stohl (Mitsubishi Lancer CNG) finished second, in front of Raimund Baumschlager (Skoda Fabia S2000).

The rally itself is not nice also. Many Dutch drivers don't like this event and want to change the date of Barneveld and so putting the EBR rally also in the Calendar of the KNAF Championship and remove Euregio out of it.

The stages are not very special. But the biggest issue this year was that some big names were at Valkenswaard for a pre-Dakar event.

Jeroen Swaanen in the grey Impreza WRC S14 has won the rally and the championship.

Traditionally this asphalt rally has plenty of entries Pluto.Near in athens,and a lot of them they participate just one or two times per year.

No2 and No6 very fast drivers,but hardly finish .

the ds3 R3 unfortunatelly is being driven by a tourist-gentleman driver with no full programme. It ususally competes in rallies of the north part of greece. This year it was seen in 2 rallies and 1 hill climb event.

One of the Finland's young guns Esapekka Lappi will drive next year's Finnish Rally Championship in Ford Fiesta S2000. He is also planning to start Rally Finland and (at least) one IRC round. This is what I call good news. Lappi is still very young, 20, and it's important he'll get a good 4WD car now.

All this is possible after making a deal with Norwegian Even Rally team which is linked to Andreas Mikkelsen as well. Fiesta will be ran by Printsport Racing (they've serviced ex-Tuohino Fiesta in the past).

Rally paladio was marked by the huge accident of halivelakis...he hit a concrete fence and the car was totaled....the engine flew 50 meters away...luckily halivelakis and his co-driver sustained only some minor fractures. The accident happened 200 meters from my spot so i have pics of its aftermath.

So i only attended 1 special stage and the cancelled one...

I am sure there is going to be a video of the crash since the accident happened on a very popular place, which i attended on the second pass through the stage.

The unfortunate thing is that the rally had many retirements from the top crews..Kaitatzis was the winner after driving a fantastic event.

Pictures tomorrow since i am still in the Dog city of athens.

The most worrying feeling was that - for 2-3 minutes - none of them was moving or showing any signs of life ...
Everybody was fearing for the worst. Thankfully the concrete fence in that house was not very solid and after hitting it, the car spun twice, so the cinetic energy was more gradually absorbed. The rollcage of the 206 S1600 was intact, despite the fact that even the engine was ripped off and landed 20-25 meters away, and the injuries were ''only'' some fratures. The pictures are horrifying, but they are not going to be published.
As always in fast bends or jumps, if a driver loses control at high speed (at least 150 km/h in this case ) it travels a long distance before exiting the road and ends up in areas that the marshals consider safe. Thankfully only 2-3 people were standing close to the area that the engine landed

indeed i was near a radio point and all we heard from the radio was a marshal shouting send in the ambulance we have lots of injured spectators....terrifying to say the least.

None of the spectators was injured but i guess when the marshal saw the engine flying out of the car and since the place was populated he just lost it...poor guy.

I saw a mistake there. Pieter Tsjoen/Eddy Chevaillier are there as the Euro Rally Challenge champions 2010, but they were the Belgian champions. The Euro Rally Challenge 2010 champions were Mark van Eldik (NL)/Robin Buysmans (B), Mitsubishi Lancer WRC'05 / Subaru Impreza WRC S14. ;)

i suggest that such work should not be in greek the next time you do it....it should be in english or french or german or in all these 3 laguages.

Its a waste such work to be done for greek rally fans who at their majority (above 90%) are just yes men followers of the sport of friends/relatives tourist drivers.

Plus it is a great way to advertise what happens in our country to people who are really passionate about the sport beyond the greek borders.

If the people who are actively control the sport were half as passionate about the sport as your team then we actually might have a future, but all they bother is their personal exposure.

The Danish Peugeot Dealer Team will field two Peugeot RCZ's built according to Danish national rules in 2012. One running in the Danish Championship and one for sprint events. Peugeot RCZ is completely different car compared to Nissan 350Z in almost all criteria (for example it is FWD). Even the look is very different except that one angle.

According to Ralismadeira website, Vitor Sà keeps on running the island championship with his 207 S2000 this year...
We have seen in 2011 it was a complete domination by him, and even with latest evo Mitsubishis, Nunes brothers, Freitas, etc have been no threat to him by far :mark:
Why did Miguel Nunes switched from his S2000 to a GrN last year ??? At least he offered run for his money to Sà in 2010 :confused:

Yes, He said that he comes just for fun. He enjoyed the last year and he wanted to enjoy it again :-)

There are several candidates for the win. Plangi has old car but he has shown crazy speed with this machine. If he stays on the road then he wins.
Vorobiovs went slightly off during the previous rally and broke the engine as a result. He is not fully happy with new engine yet, He is also favourite for the win.
All drivers in top 5 have reasonable chance to win that rally.
Weather is nice :-) Some wet snow is expected until the start of the rally (on Saturday evening). Temperatures around zero, bit colder (form -4..-7) on Sunday and no more snowfall.
I have skiing marathon on Saturday morning in the same district and rally during the same evening and next day:-) Good planning by the organizers!

It was the first time for the powerstage to run in Estonia. Points were distributed like in WRC. Very, very good solution. I dont remember when was the last time I saw the cars diving that fast on the last stage. The difference with WRC system is the fact that frist three car in each class can score Powerstage points. So, everybody were driving veery fast.

Nice rally, nice weather, some proffesional digging by spectators in ponds corner etc.

The first true rally event in Greece for 2012 will take place next week...

Its the rally sprint Thermaikos...so far the entries are below 20 (LOL) and the finish ceremony is arranged to take place at a local tavern (LOL LOL)...if it wasn't around 50 kms from my home i would stay home and watch my newly painted fence dry, since i think the level of excitement would be the same. But i think i will attend the event since the stage that is going to be used if one of the best in Greece plus the restaurants in the area are very nice...

I'm asking because I remember a road sign with that name (didnt have a gps nav and was staring thoroughly at every single one :) ) I was travelling to New Kali-kratia and New Potidea. Thermaikos is the name of the gulf where my city (thessaloniki) is built... the sign you probably saw refers to the small municipality (it is an assortment of 3 communities) we have close to the city and it is indeed on the road leading to the mountain villages of Chalkidiki.

The car was built by the Danish Peugeot team a few years ago and has been used sporadically - mainly in rallysprints. So it is not a completely untested car. But with Benny Pedersen at the wheel we will really see how good the car is. Benny has regularly beaten 2 litre cars with his old Peugeot 106 1.6 during 2011 and it will be great to see him in the 308.

The first true rally event in Greece for 2012 will take place next week...

Its the rally sprint Thermaikos...so far the entries are below 20 (LOL) and the finish ceremony is arranged to take place at a local tavern (LOL LOL)...if it wasn't around 50 kms from my home i would stay home and watch my newly painted fence dry, since i think the level of excitement would be the same. But i think i will attend the event since the stage that is going to be used if one of the best in Greece plus the restaurants in the area are very nice...
Rally finally cancelled due to only 13 entries... :(

yes, i had a chat with Anagnostakis yesterday and he said that even with 17 entries it would be ridiculous to run the event...

This year i think we are going to have more cancellations in the following events...

It is a pity because i went through the stage yesterday and it was a very nice scenery with 50cm of snow on the sides deep in the forest...

I think it is just because the Fiesta is a Stohl-car, and the 207 as well, WR-Cars are not permited to drive in ÖRM.....btw: Manfred Stohl dont think Oliveira can win: "if he can do the first SS without crash it would be a good start" :)

when i compare Novaks performance in Fiesta with Jerams, i doubt he can challenge him, but i have no idea of their car specs, budget, test kms...pitty that Danzinger is not anymore in his R2 Fiesta, he would be a nice indication...

marko jeram has done no testing and is still repairing the car i think this week and i think he disapointed that danzinger isnt in the same class

The car was built by the Danish Peugeot team a few years ago and has been used sporadically - mainly in rallysprints. So it is not a completely untested car. But with Benny Pedersen at the wheel we will really see how good the car is. Benny has regularly beaten 2 litre cars with his old Peugeot 106 1.6 during 2011 and it will be great to see him in the 308.

And an onboard video from the same test. The stage is regarded as one of the best stages in Denmark and Benny was third fastest - only beaten by 1.8 seconds and 0.5 seconds by two Peugeot 207 S2000's.

Italian champion driver Luca Rosetti will run a full Turkish Championship program with Pegasus Racing this season. He will compete at least 7 other S2000s, and some Evos, no les then 10 R2s, some S1600s, and others... This is a very special season for Turkish Rally Championship, so many S2000s, S1600s, R2s... Dennis Kuipers won the Tank S Rally, the first round of the Dutch championship.

Maybe the championship is opened only for holders of Turkish license?

Here Slovak Drotár uses Czech license to be allowed to score points in sprints (national only).
