Lamborghini made an impressive debut at the 3-Staedte rally as the 00 car, setting regular top-5 times.
The stages were fast and suited for a GT car,but it was an impressive debut considering the car had only a few weeks to be prepared and that is was only a circuit car adjusted to rally.I hope they will continue and make top rally-spec car and that others will follow their example

Great news just keep coming for the Rally Porec in two weeks!!!

Latest news are that there is a posibility, since there is a plan to run a Renault Clio R3 Acess cup in Croatia and Slovenia, that Patrick Sandell is coming with an Clio R3 acess!!! :) :) :) :)

I cant describe how great this would be for Croatian rallying!!!

Nothing will happen! Sandell was driving last year in Serbia and our championship is poor like it was before Sandells coming. ;)

Well I didnt think about marketing and commercials because I think that our and your championship is as low as it can get.
I think if Loeb would come,it would make no major difference,it would mean that 5 more people would go and watch...
Sad but true

Olaf Dobberkau (Porsche 911 GT3) had a heavy crash on Rally Eisenberg (he was 1st after SS6). He crashed into a saw-mill hitting a fork lifter and three spectators in the company's area. Fortunately noone was injured seriously. It seems the cause was brake failure.

So, I returned from Waldviertel Rally Austria. Great rally even with terrible weather. The best drivers to watch for me were Rosenberger (Polo S2000), Danzinger (Golf Kit Car), Gassner jr., Wittmann (Evo 9), some old BMWs and Volvos and crazy Ronay with Lada VFTS :D Stohl was clearly fastest but not very sideways.

1. Stohl (Evo 9 CNG)
2. Wittmann (Evo 9) +46,1
3. Rosenberger (Polo S2000) +48,8
4. Gassner (Evo 9) +3:08,8
5. Gavlák (Evo 9) +4:01,8
6. Mezaks (Evo 9) +4:41,8
7. Stengg (Evo 9) +5:09,8

9. Danzinger (Golf IV Kit Car CNG) +7:14,7

Was Baumschlager driving an Evo X?How did he do?

Mirek
9th November 2008, 12:25
Yes, he was. Finaly the car had ALS and didn't seem to be slower than Evo IX. It was also a bit louder than IX. To tell the truth I can't judge how fast it is by sight but he retired from sixth place (I think) with probably broken turbo (he passed me on SS5 slowly on warning lights). His mechanics were working on the car even on saturday penultimate service but I don't know why. Maybe someone is interested in shock absorbers Mundl uses - Sachs. In my opinion Evo X seems to be faster than N14s I saw personaly.

There were two interwievs with Kresta in last days and it seems like he'll continue the same way as in 2008. That means Czech international championship and probably Rallysprint Kopná as a pre-Barum test. The car will be probably either Mitsubishi or Peugeot 207 (at least for Barum). depends on budget, competition and economical situation of sponsors in current crisis. In the moment it is almost sure Pech stays in Mitsubishi so that Kresta needn't to switch in S2000...

Why "obviously" ???

urabus-denoS2000
14th November 2008, 19:34
Because Mirek said it is almost sure he will continue with Mitsubishi, and I heard those rumors after the end of Barum Rally when I heard he was furious that the S2000 have gone too far and that he can no more stay competitive against them with an N4
I repeat these are all rumors

Mirek
14th November 2008, 20:07
Pech wasn't furious about S2000's pace on Barum. He was lucky with his performance until the gearbox failure. After Kresta's crash he could move into the lead of Czech championship even with Lancer there. He had the pace. Just look into the results where he was before retirement. He was fastest from production cars in all tarmac IRC rounds.

CWJ: Thanks

urabus-denoS2000
14th November 2008, 20:10
Yep but I dont think that Pech will be happy with "just" the best production car.
I think he wants to win on his stages in front of the Czech crowd with such international entries.
I know he was very fast,as he always is

Mirek
14th November 2008, 20:16
I think he knew very well that only a lot of fortune could make him winner against top S2000 drivers, so that his ambitions weren't that high.

Kresta and Pech will continue with Lancer next year and I think it is better for Martin Semerád to do another season in the Lancer. Don't forget he is only 18 years old.

Mirek

Wim: You're not right. There is quite a big chance that Kresta will drive S2000 next year.

It seems to be true that CHRS ordered 3 Pugs but we must wait what will happen with them. In the moment they don't have them in my opinion.

There will be all CHRS cars in Prague in december. Those are 4 Lancers (usualy Kresta, Pech, Semerád sr. and Semerád jr.). If they had more rally cars, they'll use them at least for Tomáš Enge who wanted to start but won't because of not enough cars in CHRS.

First victory for José Pedro Fontčs and Fiat Portugal this year, at the Rali Casino do Algarve :D

Bruno Magalhaes was leading until SS3 where he had an off and lost 2'39"...he finished 2nd overall after big attack on the rest of stages ;)

Third overall was Fernando Peres who definitely won the GrN class...

With one stage left to go on this rally there was 1.5s between Fontčs and Pascoal
But Pascoal hit something and broke suspension in ultimate stage(retired) :(

Big changes in Croatia.

It seems that ORC championship and the national championship are going to become one.
ORC and its organizer Dražen Ćurić,a former Croatian rally driver, held lots of driver meetings trying to get as much crews as possible.
ORC last year was very well organized and had a very media coverage and TV shows. But,its main problem was a lack of crews, around 15-20 per rally.

ORC found out that there is no point in going next year, because there would still be little crews,so they send a message to HAKS (the national motorsport organization) with a suggestion to become one, with some requests.ORC would organize at least one rally and a new group would be added group S (non FIA homologation cars,ORC cars).

The meeting would be held right after New Year,I will keep you informed

]Wau, great for Snijers but a bit worse for championship which was very close this year...

I don't agree. In my opinion Snijers at the age of 50 (or so) is twice better driver than Deferm and Debackere taken together. He deserves this car and he deservers the 8th Belgian champion title (if I count correctly). It's always a sign of a healthy championship when the best driver wins, not the one that has most money. I hope Patrick will smash them! :)

Having said that I don't understand why WRCs are allowed in Belgium and Madeira, especially now in the time of the global crisis and when the whole world goes S2000...

Anyway, Patrick GO!

In Madeira... it was because some drivers said that S1600 and S2000 were too expensive (If you were running with a top car...) and they think that a old WRC is cheaper to maintain than a S2000 or S1600... but curious... some of those drivers will run next year with a S2000...

But I suppose it was only a way to make people write stupid news in local media and to create some buzz around regional rallys... because it look's like the won't be any WRC next year in Madeira.... :s mokin:

An old WRC costs 100 000 Euro and is a lot cheaper to maintain

There are rumors that WRC will be allowed in Bulgaria too.....

As far as I could understand from the translation,Semerad family bought Charouz Racing System. The cars wiil continue to be prepared by the same people and in the same house. So Charouz Racing System is saved.

It also says that they will prepare the Evo for Martin Semerad for his Pirell PWRC campaign.
They will make an concurent natural gas Evo X

And Vaclav Pech will continue with Charouz cars.

Mirek
5th January 2009, 14:57
Not exactly :)

Semerád Senior is new team boss of Charouz Racing System rally team but not new owner. That is still Antonin Charouz. For Pirelli Star Driver events Martin will probably use the same car as others, that should be from Ralliart Italy. For another event he will use CHRS car. He will do complete PWRC (4 in Pirelli programme and 2 on his own - Norway and Cyprus). Now he's heading for some snow lection from Johny Haugland.

I don't understand why they talk about CNG Lancer. In Czech republic it would be very difficult to use it as our ASN is very strict, maybe in sprints but definitely not in International Championship.

So does Kresta have any plans for this year? It would be great to see him back in a Skoda (Fabia S2000) I always liked Roman, it is a real shame he had problems in Barum the last 2 years as I think he could have put on a good show.

Kresta will drive Peugeot 207 serviced by his own team Kresta Racing. However the car (ex-CRT) is not his own so that the plans depends on the owner as well (mitropa cup driver Jiří Tošovský). Kresta should do Czech international championship.

Clio R3 West European Trophy

As the benchmark competition of its kind, the Clio R3 West European Trophy will be open to all Clio Renault Sport R3s that comply with FIA regulations. It will be contested over the course of six events to be held in Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland and France. The first eight drivers in each event will score 10 / 8 / 6 / 5 / 4 / 3 / 2 and 1 point(s) according to the usual scale. All results will count towards the final standings.

Renault Sport Technologies will be present at the events themselves with a host structure and a spare parts store, ready to provide technical assistance and perform technical inspections.

At the finishing line of each rally, the top five finishers will be awarded cash bonuses, Alpine purchase vouchers and tyres. He will sometimes but I thing that they don't want to risk some damage before Valašská rally (Kresta will drive that 207). It's possible that Oberland will be on snow and Tošovský never drove S2000. Of course he also may swap cars as they are both in the same class.

Tošovský bought ex-CRT Peugeot and Kresta will use it in Czech International Championship under new team Kresta Racing. Tošovský will probably use the Peugeot as well when it's free but to tell the truth he is not the type of driver to be fast in S2000. Maybe that's the reason why he is also building new Evo X.
