Wondering if any NASCAR experts could shed any light on this? Would love it if it's true! Would serve that co-fraudster (Gillett) right.

Today's NascarNow on ESPN mentioned the same things. (Probably mostly accurate but it's not known the level of debt they are in.)

The NASCAR sites like Jayski have been following this pretty closely. They certainly seem to be in serious financial trouble and have released a number of employees.

RPM are no LFC. Built from the ground up from the spirits and endeavours of the greats Ray Evernham and Richard Petty and never had great success. Just hanging on and hoping to follow the footsteps of Roush and Hendrick, etc.

RPM are a good team who can challenge the odd race win(s) in a season. And this will suck bad for Marcus Ambrose who's ready to jump to a better team like RPM get behind him.

Saying that, there's some perverse, sadistic joy at seeing the mighty (LFC) fall down like a deck of cards. Just a shame RPM have(?) become collateral damage.

More details are being revealed concerning the current financial situation at Richard Petty Motorsports, including approximately $12 million owed to the team's chassis and engine suppliers and former driver Kasey Kahne.

If I was Marcos I'd be very concerned about my future employment. It's certainly not looking good.

Marcos shouldn't have been so quick to leave his ride....the 47 will be there next year...the 9 may be but it may not be the best situation...
