Kasey Kahne...
is out immediately as the driver of the #9 car. I guess the folks at Richard Petty Motorsports didn't care for him walking away in the middle of a race last weekend.

Aric Almirola will drive the #9 this week in Martinsville.

Have heard that RPM does not have to pay the final payment on KK's contract because of this which is big for a team in such financial trouble as RPM.

Hey RPM, how does it feel to lose your only driver capable of winning on a reguar basis. You'd think you would have given him a car with working brakes.

Good luck at RB Kasey. You'll give that team a lift and then give Gordon and Johnson a run for their money at Hendrick in 2012. I smell a championship!!!!

CONCORD, N.C. -- Kasey Kahne will drive the No. 83 at Red Bull Racing for the final five races after being released by Richard Petty Motorsports on Wednesday night.

isnt that what everyone said when Jr. went to Hendrick. Not this "everybody". Junior went for a team built around him to one where he was just another driver. How was that going to be better?

for one, Its a Hendrick ride, and the people thought DEI was holding Jr back, well it wasnt the case

The house of cards is finally falling for George Gillett’s Richard Petty Motorsports.
The assembly line from Roush Fenway Racing and Roush Yates engines, which supply chassis and engines respectively, has stopped running to RPM. Engines have been picked up, cars have been repossessed.

I hope this doesn't keep Ambrose out next year.

It's not looking good. A rumor that's "out there" claims that Kasey has not been getting a paycheck for a while.

I've talked to people not to far out of the loop that reffered to the third team at Hendricks the "third link in the chain". IMO, the top two teams at Hendricks do well, the other two, for whatever reason, never seem to 'live up to potential'.

I think Kahne is fed up with the situation at RPM. They are pinching pennies, and Kahne was their legit star and the blew an opportunity because George Gillet is broke through other bad deals he has made.

I don't hold it against Kasey for wanting out, but he did not take the best way out, but then again, if they were not paying him as is rumoured, well, who can blame him?
