maybe the engine is not replaced in the Fabia already.
That's the reason.

Renato said also that Fiesta is the only S2000 car he never drove. He provbably thinks about official cars, as I don't remember him in Polo, Corolla, Auris or ZR not mentionig "inventions" from Africa or South America :-) Proton was testing in Italy so maybe he was one of the drivers considered for IRC?
Travi definitely has that x-factor that allows him to be fast in every car.

I think also he has not much time needed to adapt to a car, the big talented guys like Duval, Ogier, Latvala etc. have no problem at all to adapt to new cars. Some have some not, and for me it seems Fiesta is the best car on gravel atm for S2000.

His usual car has broken engine from Croatia. And there are no free Fabia for rent to Turkey. And it looks that Renato will really start, I have meet him today in the hotel.

I could imagine that, it's a country who had this century and previous century government problem and stuff. Probably indeed nice stages, Turkey has alot of nice landscapes! Travaglia going well but Olek again too!

Change of the leader after SS7. Yagiz Avci, second on this stage, takes the lead. Travaglia is 1 second behind him and Oleksowicz further 7 seconds. It's 1-2-3 for Fiesta S2000 at the moment :)

Quite strange to find such a big stone in the middle of the road when he was first one on stage. It must have been there from previous run. Strange that safety cars didn't remove it...

And what with Illiev and Rzeznik after the DNS in Turkey because of car not ready and problems with Turkey.

I don't know about Iliev, but Rzeznik didn't appear in Turkey, because there was not enough time between the events in Croatia and Turkey to organize everything. On the next weekend he will compete in Karkonoski Rally instead. This time he will drive Peugeot 207 S2000. I don't know what car he will choose for the next ERC rounds.

Travaglia really has a bad start of the season. Hopefully the sun will shine for him again very soon!

I have just read that Oleksowicz was the fastest driver of the third leg. This third place in Turkey is the biggest success in his whole career. In the rain he is slow like he used to be, but when the conditions are good, he is sometimes even faster than guys like Travaglia and Longhi! It's amazing!

That's false.
Drivers where contacted by organisation and said that they are available to come if the organization give them money to rent the cars or organization rent a car for them.

This is the European Rally Championship thread, so you don't must pay attention to Fuster who is driving almost a Space Shuttle. Those GT cars aren't normal GT cars and has much more horse power then in every other country where they have GT cars and the Spanish roads and the weather, there is almost never rain, really suits this cars.

a logic solution would be that the IRC european rounds count for the ERC, but then you would have the problem that the champion of IRC and ERC would most likely be the same...Another idea would be to ban S2000 cars from the championship so you attract all the N4 dinosaurs and the 2 wheel car drivers of europe, plus you reduce costs and make it more accesible.

a 12 round series sure is stupid....7-8 sounds more like it.

meh... i cannot see the series having any interest at all...no matter what you do.

ERC and IRC will be together very soon. I agree that best solution should be 6-7 events, but nobody is listening us. I think that ERC in last years isnt so bad, it is good idea for private drivers to fight for high places on different events over Europe. It is easy to be fast on home field...

If the ERC is to get a wider audience both among supporters and drivers, something needs to be done.

As of today you have to many arenas in Europe:
- National series
- FIA zone series
- ERC

Something has to go imo, but what?

Maybe the European Crown could be some sort of final between the zones? If the top X cars from the classes in the zones could meet for a final containing 1 asfalt and 1 gravel rally - to crown the best all rounder in european rallying ?

Yes, three events of historical value have to be noticed on this rally:

1) Luca Rossetti is the first driver in the history of mankind who won European Rally Championship three times.
(actually Polish driver Sobieslaw Zasada made it too in the sixties, but at that time ERC was divided in groups)
2) Rok Turk won the first ever European Rally Championship title for Slovenia (in 2WD category).
3) For the first time in history Antonin Tlustak won a special stage in ERC round :)
