Croft, this could be classed as my home round, as I don't live far from the circuit.
I must admit though, I don't think I will post decent times, as every practice race I've done at Croft results in carnage at the first turn, I'm either shoved off, or I have to slow right down to avoid any cars been spun out in front of me.
better than nothing happening at all I guess...

Of the many great tracks in the BTCC, this is one which flows the least, in my opinion. The Renault should be an advantage but this track isn't one I know too well. However, 4th place in the driver's standings is mine for the taking :D

I am no fan of Croft. Wish I had the Pug this round...

I used to be amazing at Croft, purely because I could remember how the weather would play out in each race so could be on the right tyres. Not sure how well I'll do, never been a great fan of the Vauxhall

just finished my races. heres my report,
race 1
qualifying for race 1 was not bad, I played it safe at times, perhaps I could of gone faster, but the setups i tried, i found the car too twitchy through the corners. I qualified 7th.
the race: as with my pratice runs, my race was really over at the first corner. There were 4 cars trying to squeeze through, and a Vauxhall shoved me off the track. I finished in 16th.
Race 2
Qualifying was better this time round in terms of the car feeling. I actually finished worse than last time, coming in 12th, but It gave me more confidence for the race.
the race was much better than the previous one, again, the first turn was crowded, but this time, instead of going off, I got through OK. I knocked a Vauxhall off at the first turn getting payback for race 1 :D , but the race itself was not bad, I had lost too much time slowing down to avoid any carnage at the first corner, so the top half got away, so I really had to settle for 12th.
all in all, not bad.

F12010 has occupied my gaming this weekend and, I planned to race today, but a throbbing headache had me out of action. I'll do them tomorrow afternoon/evening if you can award an extension.

That 406 is one slow car! Especially as I've been used to F1 cars for the past few weeks. I'm not expecting great things from this round.

I'm like Paddy, only it was football, WRC and watching real rallying that was my downfall. I might be able to get a race in this evening if an extension is available.

I've finished my races and sent my times. As previously stated, I was never going to be too comfortable coming to Croft, never mind with a really bad winter dose!
Quali for race 1 went quite well, actually. I started on pole but the first corner here is probably the most nerve-wrecking in the game. I made an error here and then never quite managed to put in laps akin to my quali attempt due to racing the pack.
Race 2 was OK, relatively speaking. Quali was bad, I made so many mistakes [lethargy setting in]. However, this could have been a blessing in disguise. I was last on the grid and, although slow on the approach to the god-forsaken first turn, I avoided all the usual carnage and put in a string of clean laps. However, because I was moving up through the field all race long, any chance of setting a decent fast time went out the window. I think I may have spun somewhere as well. Anyway, a finish is as good as anything at a track like this - just a shame that I had the Renault this time out.

Really sorry but this game was frustrating me so much tonight that I had to stop before my telly got a PS3 controller thrown at it. I knew that things were off to a bad start when I started trying to win the standard race to unlock expert. For some reason I could accelerate out of corners quicker than the CPU cars and had a much better top end but the car virtually died in mid-range and I'd get overtaken on straights. This meant that I overegged the corners and kept crashing. Even when I could get round a lap without spinning then I was still slow, a fairly tidy fast lap couldn't even net me pole on one attempt.
Apologies to Tannat for not even helping to make up the numbers, it's been a good little championship but I just lack the time that the game requires (or does for me anyway). When I eventually sit down to play on the computer I usually just want to pick up something that I can play for 15 minutes and then leave, like FIFA or COD.

No worries, JY...
At the very least you are picking up the game again

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Makes no sense at all and is very frustrating, particularly as the AI are ridiculously slow through some sections [even on Expert].

I also have this problem, althought I find the main problem is the start; I'm simply destroyed on the straights, its impossible to get to the first corner without being overtook.

It's like that at every circuit though, isn't it? No matter how you change your starting method, you always seem to have more drag off the line. And those AI cars don't hold back into turn 1. If I get through turn 1, I'm usually satisfied enough, regardless of my pace at any given circuit.

Apologies for the delay-and I'll just cut to the quick for the races. Two wins for JTFan-which should bring the title lead back into his hands.
A solid performance for Jon Brown in the unloved Peugeot- awinning weekend in my book with two seconds..
Tannat soldiered on to third in both races....
Positive weekend for IronRooster with two fourths in the Ford
And perhaps a frustrating weekend for Paddy in the Renault with two fifths.

Wow! I knew I was off form but that is really bad [let alone with the Renault] :(
Looks like I've got some competition for the final round. I think the Vauxhall is an OK car so I aim to take 4th in the driver's championship. You're on IronRooster :p :

how about for the 1st race we have 3 laps and rain. but for the final race, we have sunny weather, but have it for 20 laps, a true grand finale

Good idea
I like the idea of using "changeable" weather too, but it would probably make the outcome unfair.

Shorter races generally=tighter finishes, so I'll probably keep the 3 lap/5 lap format
Two completely dry races would be straight fights, although grip mis not so reduced in rain versus storm mode.
Perhaps 3 laps rain and 5 laps cloudy will be the settings...

the reason I thought about a 20 lapper is because it could be classed as a endurance race in a way, where mistakes could cost racers dearly, which IMO would be great to decide the champion.
