Alfa Fan will only ever add confirmed entries if they appear on BTCC.net (a perfectly good method as BTCC.net doesn't has rumour), which is why Arena are not on there despite this http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=5299
Hopefully it is merely down to BTCC.net not posting the story yet since it does appear to be an official statement by the Special Tuning. Still it will be good to see a brace of SEATs around next season, I assume Tom Boardman will drive one. Interesting how every single entrance so far is using an NGTC engine.

MrMetro

Interesting how every single entrance so far is using an NGTC engine.

Teams will probably want to get used to NGTC, after all, NGTC engines will be increased in power in 2013, so teams will want to get used to things such as set ups and how the car handles with the turbo charged engine.

so, in terms of car makes, we will definatly see:
Ford
Toyota
VW
Honda
Vauxhall

And we seem to be very likely to see an Audi representation there too. With BMW not into the NGTC engine we will have to wait and see if we get any BMWs on the grid next year, And we're still waiting on Chevrolet's plans, if anyone turns up with a SEAT and this rumour about MG.....

Doesn't matter whether BMW will do an NGTC engine or not, a team running BMWs can still use a Super 2000 engine, fund a NGTC engine themselves (ala Arena and AmD) or buy the Swindon NGTC engine (like Eurotech).

fords are nice cars to look at but crap under the bonnet.

i was once a big ford fan owned a number of fords over the last 9 yrs ive been driving. Fiesta 1.4(after only doing 34k miles in its life engine gave up on me...Escort Ghia(start motor kept packing up)...Focus Ghia(electrics went 3 time before giving the car back)...Mondeo st220. all have had problems worst was my mondeo 4 gear boxes its first 12months on the road 1 of which was rebuilt but failed again. ended up giving the car back and bought a MG ZS 180+ and driving was great again. Im now driving a Skoda Octavia RS but thinking of getting rid as i think its time 4 a change but i will NEVER own a ford again

Interesting.

My dad (as I am only 18) has owned Fords almost all his life! From a Ford Anglia, through to Cortinas, Capris, Escort XR3s, Sierra XR4x4, Mondeo ST24s and up to 2 ST220s and 1 2.5T new Mondeo. My mum has also had many older Fiestas including XR2s, KAs (which I have owned 2 of) and the new Fiesta.

We have never had any real mechanical problems, and my dad has said that the ST220s were the best cars he's ever owned. Seems like you had a bit of bad luck!! We have 4 cars on our driveway - all 4 are Fords!

Well Dave Bartram says he's looking to fill the seat, not that it is filled. Still fingers crossed that Steven Kane could get the money together.

News from the Autosport show is that Onslow-Cole is a strong contender for the third seat!

If so, then who's for the 2nd Arena seat?

Not really bothered. After the way OC was treated last season, do you really expect to see him back at arena as Chilton's puppet???

It was made clear to all that Chilton's dad helps fund the team so Tom Chilton WILL finish in front of his team mates... So whoever is in the second or even the third car hasn't really got a chance of beating Tom in the end.

I think it'll probably have big DynoJet logos on it like his G50 last year... Interesting that it has 'Ginetta' written on it, are they sponsoring him?

I agree wholeheartedly, but we do need some more 'stars' to really get people talking. Quite frankly I don't really talk about the BMW 320si vs. Chevrolet Lacetti rivalry...

Looking forward to it nonetheless!

Its because of the Scandinavian's nicking Turkington and Thompson from us. Remember back in the day (only 2 years ago) when we had Thompson, Reid, Turkington, Giovanardi, and even Johnny Herbert! Why are they dispersing so much? Bring back Yvan Muller as well.... and Huffy :D

Not many teams if any in the BTCC offer paid drives any more. Therefore in the current financial climate, I am just well chuffed that we have a huge grid that will offer very competitive racing this year. People talk about amateurs, but there will be many race winners driving again this year.

Plato, Neal, Shedden, Chilton, Jackson, Collard, Jordan

Still some good quality - possible TOC and Kane to come in too.

I've probably missed a few people off too.

At least on the 2nd April the BTCC is still going strong and I for sure will be there to lap it up! Excuse the pun!

Great news on the confirmation of Dave Newsham, i was hoping he would get a drive in the BTCC this year. His performance in the Clios last year was phenomenal. Remided me a little of the dominance that Priaulx had in the Renualt Spiders all those years ago before hitting the touring cars.

Confirmed - David Pinkney @ Rob Austin Racing - Audi A4.

Safe to say the pressure will be on their 2nd driver to score the team some points. Jeez!

Dissapointing If I'm honest, Pinkney had one of the best liveries in that lovely black and pink vectra last year.

Jordans Vectra was better :)

Talking about Jordan, i miss the pale Blue and White DC5 Guest Integras. Brilliant livery.

Jordans Vectra was better :)

Agreed, I'd go as far to say Jordan's was the best last year. But I'd say Pinkney's along with possibly the Chevvies was the 'best of the rest'

I don't ever expect to see anyone with (2nd half of season) by them...

Good field...but whats important quantity or quality..

I was thinking that way, and to some extent still am, but having seen the WTCC entry list and not known who most of the drivers are, the BTCC looks positively star-studded.

Looks like your suspicions about bamboo could prove fairly true Alfa Fan:

From Harry Vaulkhard on facebook: "Sadly (for me at least) I won't be at BTCC media day tomorrow! I'm still working on sponsors but hope to be out shortly : )"
