and why Loeb was winning in the xsara when he was not their leading driver during the sainz Mcrae era???

When McRae and Sainz arrived for 2003 season, Sebastien Loeb was already Citroen factory driver since 2001. he was already working with Didier Clement his dedicated car engineer at that time and still is even today. But my point, really is that Citroen wants to make their drivers confident, not only Loeb. Thanks for the question and sorry if i was not very clear at first. :)

Good for Turan, but i think it was a mistake to switch to the >Focus that way, he has surely lost time getting to know the car and learning set up, I guess we would have been even higher with the 307 so far.

May be tomorrow he could impress with much better times at catch teams attention.

I also think that with the 307 he can be much faster, but the focus is prepared by M-sport and maybe he want to try what is to drive a car serviced by manifacturer.

I think it has nothing to do with WRC stuff. It is a local TV that decided to broadcast the stage.

Ogier may not be able to arrive to the service park.

BTW, spanish media says (as I understood, probably in the words of Sordo's father) that there was some car problem in the 1st stage (maybe diffs) and that it look very suspicious. They say something similar happened in Finland, when being the 1st Citroen and after the first Service Park his setup was changed without asking so. They said that avoiding a good performance in Spain permits Citroen to negotiate a new program for next year (not the whole championship and the need of an sponsor).

I know Sordo's father has been pulling the wires since the very beginning of his carreer, you don't know how much he has done.

About Marc's affair, I don't know the exact cause , if you say it was because of Sordo Sr I believe you, but there also might be some reason behind it (you might know it better, but a friend of mine who's relative to Marc didn't tell me anything strange).

Anyway, I just posted it to let you know, Sordo don't pay my mortgage nor he makes me sleep with more or less women. Luckily, this is not like football, basket, handball,...rally drivers and teams come and go and what remains is just rallying, what I like (what a corny sentence!!!).

Ford and Citroen both handle their second, and third and fourt drivers as puppits on a string. Maybe Sordo should go to an privateer team, and show his real skills. PSWRT has plans to continue next year even if Petter will be a Citroen factory driver. Any driver with a budget can hire the team.

Non leading drivers in both Ford and Citroen team should hire a bodyguard to stay next near the car with a gun, 24/7, to prevent management sabotaging the car :(

Very nice battle and a very good result for Solberg, i really hope he wins in GB after such a fantastic season for him i think it would be nice to win there, my guess is he will fight with the ford kids and ogier. Loeb i think in such a high risk rally like GB will stand aside and watch the fireworks.

^^ Fords will probably have mechanical problems, Latvala will be on the pace. Ogier will be right up there and have to agree about Loeb.

As for Petter in GB, well everyone can guess :) . Sordo seemed alittle disappointed, gotta feel for him.

I can forecast the outcome of GB already:
1) Petter
2) JML
3) Seb Ogier
4) Hirvonen
5) Loeb
6) Henning
7) Sordo
8) Wilson

Congrats to Seb, Petter and Sordo, great battle between the latter, very strong by Petter to actually win the last stage when under such pressure from Sordo.

Despite Seb winning the crown, it will be very interseting in GB, with three possible runner ups. If Petter wins, he will be third whatever Latvala does, and if Ogier should have a mechanical or off, he actually might loose second to Petter! The same goes for Latvala of course, if he stays ahead of Petter.

Looking forward to this, oh yeah!

Well, that looks bad. The history of this car was quite long. Its first start was in 2008 Monte Carlo Rally and 9 rallies in total in the hands of Mikko.
in 2009 5 rallies in the hands of Quassimi and once in the hands of Rantanen
in 2010 7 rallies in the hands of Henning 1 rally in the hands of Duval (maybe even more?)?

So, it was at least 24th rally for that car and it has survived many, many crashes...

Seeing thousands of rally crashes (both live and on video) my educated guess is a slow deceptive corner in the end of some fast section which wasn't marked in the notes properly. Or it was but the driver drove too much with his eyes and not taking into account the info in the notes.

Crash when compared with Latvala's works is nothing special.. PLUS: photos are great..

Mirek
1st November 2010, 21:39
Latvala was simply rolling. That makes a lot of damage but isn't that dangerous because energy is absorbed step by step in a long time. Also the speed of movement changes very slowly in terms of crash dynamics so the G-load on crew is quite small.

In case of Turán it was direct hit on the roof which is very dangerous way of crashing as almost all energy of the movement is spent into deformation of roof rollcage structure in a single very short time. Also G-load of crew is much higher. A lot of such crashes ended by fatal injuries in the past.

OldF
1st November 2010, 22:08
Maybe the HANS saved them. I remember San Remo several years ago when a crew landed on the roof and both dead with broken neck.
