F1 2010 online gamertags

Thought it would be nice to get a thread going where people post their gamertags. Please post what system you are on as well, cos we can't play against people on other systems. Here's the ones I've seen so far:

I think online is where this game's real strength is. No bugs or glitches affecting it there, and the races are a blast! Too bad we can't have cross-platform races. Would have been interesting.

Anyway, guys who have this game for the PC, add me and Bruce. We'll be hosting custom races every evening (probably). The more clean racers we can get, the more fun it would be.

Maybe even full race weekends with all three qualifying sessions and 100% race distance with pit-stops. Wouldn't that be something? :D

As far as I know you can only have 15min qualifying and change the length of races. No full weekends as far as I remember.

Of course no Saturday and Sunday night for me either. I was talking about during the week, since I think I can manage one or two online races in the evening (probably) to unwind before hitting the sack. But that again depends on how much work I have that day.

Teenage days were the best, where I could throw caution to the wind and play until kingdom come. I think it was EA's F1 2000 that I finished the whole career mode in one day playing on a keyboard, on my old Celeron PC. :p

Are you kidding me?! After last night's race I was so pumped up ready for another race it was a joke. Took a lot of self control to go to bed.

Showing my age here but when I first got F1GP (or GP1 as it's known now, the first of Geoff Crammond's F1 games), I played it for 9 hours straight! Finished a whole championship and everything.

I have a 360 as well, but its not online at the moment, so I'll post my 360 gamertag when its online

the problem I have with playing online is my ISP, Orange, has a fair use policy during the hours of 6pm to midnight of 5GB, and if I go over that, I'll get 'capped', so I'm limited to playing during the day, which is annoying as most people play during the evenings.

Well I only have a 3GB cap for the whole month so I'm sure this doesn't use much bandwidth to play online. i'll try to get an idea of usage today but it can't be much, it's going to quickly for my slow 512kb/s to be using much bandwidth at all.

Man, those races were edge of the seat stuff. Had some very good races with two other fellas before you came online. Long races with pitstops, all assists off, clean racing etc. This game really comes alive online.

The monaco race was a joke though, just a crash-fest although nobody drove into each other, we just hit everything else. And I got the famous 10-sec penalty for someone else hitting me in an accident.

I have raced in about 6 or 7 Monaco races online, and not ONE of them was a clean one. Almost all of them spin at Loews or the corner after or before the tunnel. It's a damn massacre, especially when you have crash-happy idiots who won't yield when a faster car overtakes them fair and square. I encountered a bunch of crashers in Melbourne. Overtook two of them at Turn 1, and both of them crashed into me the next corner. Idiots.

That was what I was thinking about after our races last nite. People moan about all the crashers but then we are very clean and maybe that's cos we're both former kart racers so we know how to behave. I mean look at that last half lap at Turkey, we were really close but it was clean and I wasn't worried at any time.

Most of the online "racers" are kids who have not actually raced in a professional environment, don't have a clue what fair racing is, and so for them all of it is a big joke.

Had some pretty good races last night. Was in a 30% distance race at Melbourne with 12 people. Ran second for majority of the race, banging in consistent laps, while the guy in first was faster, but kept making mistakes. Got very close during the pitstops, and eventually overtook him with 3 laps to go when he made another mistake. Needless to say, enjoyed it thoroughly! :d

I saw you get online Bruce last evening, but was in the middle of a race. Did you get into any online race?

you guys should really avoid public races, just do private sessions with people you know. For instance, I was playing on race driver grid online in public sessions, and pretty much every race involved someone going round the wrong way and driving into other people, or jerks who just ram into everybody else and messing other peoples races.

Yeah I saw you, but I saw you were busy with GP mode races so I figured I'd wait until you were done, then you went to Canada after that so I played for a bit more then packed it in for the night. Had some good races though. While waiting for you I took the opportunity to finish time trialing the tracks I hadn't driven yet so at least I've driven them all now.

Got into a 3 race thing where it turned out to be me versus some German dude named SpielerF1 2010, and we were very evenly matched which was great. We'd disappear off and leave the rest. First race in Canada wasn't great cos I missed my braking point into T1 on lap 2 and just clip this guy while missing him. He dropped to 2nd but worked his way back up to the win while I finished 3rd. 2nd race at Silverstone went much better, we let everyone else sort themselves out on lap 1 and then on lap 2 he made a little mistake through Becketts and I nailed him onto Hanger straight and then just pulled away to a 3sec win. 3rd race at Valencia was going ok, I was sitting about 1sec behind him then made a mistake and broke my front win on the 2nd lap, so eventually finished 3rd there. Then he left and you were still in Canada so I decided to retire for the evening.

Learnt some very interesting things about setting the brakes last night. Means I can brake quite a bit later with confidence.
