I think Schumi took a pay cut.

He is not doing it for the money.

what? Webber earns more than Vettel? thats surprising, especially considering barrichello earns more than both and trulli earns more than vettel.

no wonder that red bull is fast, when more of their no doubt huge budget goes towards the car....

Sorry, people, but I don't believe that list at all. You should never believe Spanish press - El País, El Mundo, Marca and As write nothing but BS.

I think the list is based on what the drivers report on their income taxes! ;)

Whiney Alonso is obviously not worth the money.

Webber is clearly the obvious shock there. No wonder Red Bull are considering dumping him for an 'official' Red Bull driver.

C'mon IOAN - you do not mean that?

Just look how he has driven in the last few races to have put himself in line to the champion.

Don't you think it will be better to reserve judgement at the end of the season?

But remember the amount a driver is paid is not what he might be worth in terms of performance - it is just how much he wants and how much he can get. It is clever negotiation.

Just look at how much money Ralf Schumacher was paid for so long :D

I would think this list is suspect and not based on anything but conjecture.

Exactly HOW do they learn of an item that is the most private of issues, especially these days where government socialist attitudes - including the US - and resentment of the wealthy by the populace is so prevelant?

I think this list is nonsense.

I tend to agree with you. And not just because the only source listed is a Spanish paper. Unless the team or a driver chooses to release income data, no one would know the precise figure.

Some sports teams (baseball, football, basketball, etc.) in the U.S. do release contract details and dollar amounts. But especially in racing, such figures are often just based on speculation. And since that list has Bruno Senna making £123,000 in one section and £164,000 in another, my assumption is someone at El Mundo just decided to make up some random salary figures.

I should have called him the 'It's not fair, let me through' Alonso. ;)

When he got overtaken by Kamui at Valencia, when he made an idiotic mistake at Silverstone or when he had to beg the team to order the better driver on the day to move over for his pathetic whiny ass?
Or the other countless errors he has made this year?

F*** alonso.

What? The drivers pay income tax?

Don't forget most of this can't be kept entirely secret, the teams will have to file accounts for tax purposes and anyone can look at those accounts. For UK based companies it'll cost you £1 per document. But the trick is finding which company they are filed under.

e.g.

Name & Registered Office:
MCLAREN FORMULA ONE LIMITED
MCLAREN TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
CHERTSEY ROAD
WOKING
SURREY
GU21 4YH

Looks right; but...
Previous Names: Date of change Previous Name 10/07/2008 W M M LIMITED 17/12/1997 WOODHURST EQUIPMENTS LIMITED
strange!

What exactly is the problem with his language?
I have seen people posting insults around here and no one ever asked them to watch their language.

My knowledge of English might not be perfect, but I'm confident that this message sounds rather bitter. :D

I'm not familiar with the requirements in the UK, but would the tax form go into so much detail that the individual drivers would be listed separately, or even separated out from all of the other employees?

Here in the U.S. you'd be able to look at SEC filings and find the salaries of top corporate officers if the company was publicly listed. But aside from that, I'm not sure how one could (legally) get that sort of contract or private income information.

I am not sure, taking into account today's race, the message is rather sweet! :D
