This article suggests that the April Texas NASCAR race weekend next year may end up involving the long-awaited doubleheader with the IndyCar series. The main evidence this article has in suggesting this idea is that the news conference to be held at TMS regarding the track's schedule for next year features Bruton Smith, Randy Benard, Helio Castroneves, Brian France and Tony Stewart on the guest list.

In this instance, the Cup race would be held on Saturday Night (April 9th) while the IndyCar race will be on either Friday night or Sunday afternoon.
The author of this article also opines that the potential doubleheader would provide an oppurtunity for drivers from both Cup and Indycar to race the other series car in preparation for the hypothesized $20 million Indy 500/Coke 600 doubleheader.
The Texas doubleheader proposal seems like a pipe dream to me, but would definitely be a great thing for this series if it were to actually be put togehter. Thoughts???
