Three European teams will race in Japan: championship leaders Bolliger Kawasaki, reigning world champions Yamaha Austria, and former champions Yamaha GMT94.
The Austrians finished fourth overall in last year's race and will be chasing a podium finish this year, while GMT94 will field Aussie hero Damian Cudlin, fresh from his brilliant Moto2 debut last weekend. For Bolliger Kawasaki this race is all about building on their championship lead.
Other Western interest comes from the No.903 Moto Journal Yamaha of Stephane Coutelle, Magali Langlois and Zef Enault. Top 'local' entries include the No.11 TSR Honda (Johnny Rea joined by Takahashi and Akiyoshi), No.12 Yoshimura Suzuki (Kagayama, Sakai, Aoki) and No.634 Harc-Pro Honda (Kiyonari, Takahashi, Nakagami). Qualifying is on Friday, Superpole on Saturday and the race starts at 11:00am local time on Sunday.
