Here in the UK, we have Motorsport News as a weekly newspaper. Not very interesting anymore.

However, lets hear what magazine and newspaper you have in your country for rallying.

well theres autosport as well in the uk, which has good rally news and reports. although at £3.20 per week it can get pretty expensive.

I'm not sure it's worth £3.20 for maybe only 2 pages of Rallying. Autosport used to be a good magazine, but not anymore, too much F1 in it.

I thought about subscribing to Autosport, but getting my hands on a few issues I decided not to for that mentioned reason: way too much F1 for which I don't have any interested and hardly any rallying. Sadly though, Autosport is very hard to spot on newstands in Finland. I wouldn't mind buying an odd copy every now and then.

There are two motorsport magazines in Finland, Vauhdin Maailma and a bit undergroundish Hanaa. I subscribe only to Vauhdin Maailma which provides twenty some pages on rallying every month. It have changed it way of writing more towards (in-depth) interviews and historic nostalgia rather than reviewing current races, a decision I personally prefer.

Don't really know what you want from a weekly motorsport magazine. But 18+pages (and yes it did cont them) of International, Nation and local rally news and information from in this weeks mag to me is quite good!

My only moan is that is arrives late normally on a Thursday / Friday where most of the news has already been available by rallybuzz.com and H&H - other rally website are available!

Agree with you there on the info been on the net first, sadly the internet may be harming the print media but then we all must move with the times i find Handbreaks and Hairpins a great weekly production.
Nothing could beat the old rallysport Mag for club rallying news i remember every crew got a mention where they finished or what happened if they retired Nothing has ever emmulated since.the only thing i ever saw comming close to it was Flat to the mat here in Ireland, but that sadly is no longer with us,we've also got Pacenotes while it started great its lost focus.

I have just started a digital rally magazine, Rally-eMag. it can be downloaded free! It is optimized for the iPad, but can be viewed online or on other tablets as well. Issuu has a viewer or you can just download the pdf file. I am not allowed to enter a link yet, but you can find on Issuu and we have a Facebook page, 'like' it and you will be updated when a new issue is released (monthly).

Here's this months cover:
3019

Searching on Issuu or Rally-eMag should lead you to it, on Facebook just add /emagrally after the Facebook url.

Let me know what you think of the mag! You can find our email address in the mag or leave a comment here.

Cheers,
Steven

One thing I miss from the ”old” VM is the tech stuff etc. There used to be articles about dampers, ECU, comparing dynos, Rauno Aaltonen’s driving school, tuners basic school etc.

Note that the text you quoted was from the summer of 2010. Still, VM hasn't changed must since, only the race reviews has returned with their own smaller "magazine".

Oh, and since 2010 I've become a Hanaa subscriber as well. That is still underground.
