I'll be certainly participating in this rally and go for the win if possible. But my aim is to get used to the new wheel I got and try to be consistent and avoid any driving errors.

What wheel you got now NeverKnow?
Hey Bruce, looks like we can't have thick fog+night mod together for:
''SS7 - Harwood Forest II (England) - Mod: Normal - Weather: Thick Fog - NIGHT MOD - 5.9km''
It should be either Bad weather+night mod or Clear weather+night mod!
What should It be? Update ss7 please... ;)

What wheel you got now NeverKnow?
Logitech Driving Force GT but I'm also using my old wheels gas pedal for clutch (thankfully RBR and other sims support multiple controllers). It has 900 degrees of steering which is nice, though I'm using 540 degrees most of the time. Driving with force feedback requires getting used to as well.

6th July 2010, 06:46
Cool. I switch FF way down, so it's like power steering. I found it slowed down my ability to opposite lock, but see how you go. That is where the G25 is great with the 3 pedals and I use the sequential shift as the handbrake, so it's pretty realistic.
Bruce, please update ss7 weather, because I want to do leg 2 tonight...
What should It be...?

Sorry LCD, missed your previous post. Lets make it BAD conditions.
One thing I must do now that I also have 2010 mod is to go through these stages and see what weather can do what, cos the 2009 mod had no problems with them.

I'd done up to stage 6 so far and had a terrible rally, with lots of spins and ending one stage with no brakes and another with the engine temp off the clock for the last 3km. The mud stages are ok, but the intermediate stages are terrible, just no grip.
Rally complete! It was a classical British rally! Really enjoyed It!

Rally completed. Here is a report:
SS1-6: I made a few small errors on these stages but nothing worth noting down. I took a mostly cautious approach so I wasn't pushing very hard. However, this seemed to pay off as I could keep the car on the circuit.
SS7: Harwood II was not great. I had a few close calls some fairly major incident which luckily didn't require the call for help option or damage the car - only time was lost.
SS8: Falstone II seemed really slippy in damp conditions and I wasn't prepared for this. I almost rolled the car at the beginning and then, unfortunately, I hit marshalls some way into the stage. Later on, I hit some spectators on the outside of a bend. All in all, I lost about 1m 30s. :(
SS9: Chirdonhead reverse was OK bar one moment at the beginning which could have been awfully serious. I was approaching a 90 left at high speed but, not concentrating, I left my braking ridiculously late and ploughed straight on into the trees. Luckily, I spun the car sidewards so the damage would be minimised and, sure enough, there was no damage to report or call for help option needed.
SS10: Just took it home nice and easy.
Quite satisfied with this rally but its difficult to judge my performances. I don't think I made as many big mistakes as others but I know my cautious driving for the majority of the rally will mean my speed was certainly nothing to shout about. Nonetheless, I've enjoyed this series and await the results
By the way, my car choice was a 2009 Citroen C4. A great car for these stages

Just finished my rally. I had good start but a really bad ending.
Leg 1 went well and I did some good times.
Leg 2 started ok'sh but when it got dark I started to drive too carefully once again. On SS6 I had one or two slight offs but on the next stage I had a few more. Standard notes didn't help either because they didn't had distances to the corners, so I was always braking too early for the corners.
On SS8 I also had few offs but didn't lost too much times. Then came SS9 and I think it might have encountered a bug or something. RSRBR loaded it with damp surface conditions even though I had set them according to the itinary (good conditions). So I was driving on damp mud with dry tires, sliding all over the place, and even had an off. Luckily I finished the stage.
And finally on the last stage I tried to go as fast as possible but I cut a corner too much and I got stuck for a bit. Possibly lost about 15 seconds because of this.
Overall I'm pleased that I managed to finish the rally, it was really tough going at times. Especially in the dark when a small mistake in driving line could cause a crash. And the bug on SS9 drops me down the leaderboard as well I think. But I did manage to get more used to the new wheel, though small quirk it has is that I need to wear gloves or if I don't, I will get blisters on my thumbs. Looking forward to the result to see how far off the pace I was compared to others.

Exactly the same thing happened to me and I restarted and it still did that so I also slid around all over the place. Interesting, I haven't heard anyone else say anything.

I've encountered this bug before on one of the tarmac rallies during recce. Though can't remember which rally it was. The only solution for this that I know of is to quit both RBR and RSRBR and launch RSRBR again.
If similar situation occurs in the future would the person be allowed to do the stage again (in the correct conditions) after restarting RSRBR?
Bruce D

What a rally, so many lead changes. I enjoyed the night stages, less to see so I can concentrate on the road.
Looks like I owe Francis a test in my rally car. Well earned Francis. Now to sort out a time for the test.
Will offer the same to next season's champ as well. A full test in one of my team's rally cars. All you have to do is organise your own flights.

I am very very happy. This season was great, very competitive, very well organised, and challenging.
I want to thank Ray as well for letting me be in his team, but unfortunately I've been checking flights from Portugal to Australia and I can't afford them right now. I am really sad about this but right now I have no money to afford those trips, since I have to invest some of what I have on my band and my drum kit. Anyways, I thank you very much Ray for the opportunity and it's not everyday we have a chance like this, and you made a chance possible, youre a great man indeed Ray :) .
How about ask NeverKnow if he's up to it?!
Congrats to all of you guys, you made this an very interesting championship.

Congratulation Francis for winning the champsionship and the rally! Hopefully I can put up more of a fight next season. :D
Next season is promising to become very interesting if we take into account that there were 5 different stage winners and top 5 was separated by only a minute at the end of the rally. Looking forward to next season.
...How about ask NeverKnow if he's up to it?!...
Unfortunately I'd have to decline as well. I'd loved to go but it isn't financially possible at the moment.
Correct me If I'm wrong, was this the most competative rally of the season or what?
2nd place Is a great success among those great drivers!
4th place overall this season, Is not bad at all, If I recall all those bad rallies I've had!
I really enjoyed every single battle there!
No doubt, season 2 was more difficult, as the use of RSRBR gave It much more Interest!
So we've got a new champion for 2010! Gongrats Francis!
Gongrats to all participated from the start of season!
We've also seen some drivers setting the base, for some great achievements In the future!
Season 2 was a great one, thanks to Bruce too!
You did very well buddy! I wish you the best for the next challenge!

You enter on an event by event basis so you can join in at any time, no series registration as such. We have an event next week monday if you want to get a feel for things. And this is an offline league so you just do the stages and let the mod record the times and email the html file to me. But if you read the rules page on the website that will help too. Both series are basically the same but the SAIRC bans WRC cars as per the real championship.

FRANCIS44 TAKES TITLE AFTER CLOSE VICTORY
Francis44 finally wrapped up Season 2 of the RBR MF Cup after taking victory in the final round of the series, the RAC Rally of Great Britain. But it was a massive fight to the finish with as much as 6 cars involved in the fight at some stage or other.
Just to get it out the way, the S2000 class was a non-contest. BruceD won the class by staying on the road longer than ctbr. Finished, now to the main WRC class where all the action was on this event.
Things started off with a short blast around the RSI Slalom stage, where Macd took a 1.37sec lead over NeverKnow, followed by Francis44, LCD, Tannat, Raybak and BruceD but 6sec covered the lot. Positions after SS1 Macd, NeverKnow +1.37, Francis44 +3.44, LCD +3.61, Tannat +5.31, Raybak +6.16, BruceD +6.38, etc
Stage 2 was a run through PTD Rallysprint where NeverKnow grabbed the lead of the rally with the stage win, and championship leader Francis44 had a bad stage, dropping 26sec. Raybak only just missed out on the stage win followed by Macd. Positions after SS2 NeverKnow, Macd +2.59, Raybak +5.73, LCD +13.54, Tannat +22.15, BruceD +23.66, Francis44 +28.25.
The last stage of the day was the run through Sweet Lamb and this was where the S2000 boys disappeared off the radar but the fight up front was no different. Raybak won the stage and closed to a quarter of a second from NeverKnow overall with Macd keeping his nose right up there too for an incredibly close overnight leaderboard, just 1.26sec covering the first 3! Positions after Day 1 - NeverKnow, Raybak +0.25, Macd +1.26, LCD +30.03, Tannat +38.39, Francis44 +39.56.
Day 2 started with a run through Harwood Forest and LCD decided he wanted in on the action by winning the stage from Francis44 followed by NeverKnow and Raybak. Macd had a bad stage, losing 32sec. Positons after SS4 NeverKnow, Raybak +9.85, LCD +23.20, Macd +26.99, Francis44 +35.22, Tannat +56.78
Francis44 used the next run through Chironhead to take a stage win and start to claw back some of the margin he’d lost previously, but LCD was coming with him by being 2nd quickest on the stage and gaining more time on the guys ahead. Positions after SS5 NeverKnow, LCD +19.53, Francis44 +22.93, Raybak +23.41, Macd +46.78, Tannat +1:25.41
Raybak decided on Shepherds Shield that he’d had enough of going backwards and won the stage by nearly 10sec to leap back into 2nd overall, while teammate Francis44 took further time off the others by being 2nd quickest. Positions after SS6 - NeverKnow, Raybak +8.26, Francis44 +17.16, LCD +21.55, Macd +47.41, Tannat +1:44.51
LCD grabbed 2nd overall back on SS7 Harwood Forest II by winning the stage by 5sec from NeverKnow and Francis44, so the now the guys who had been going backwards were coming forwards again. Crazy stuff! Positons after SS7 - NeverKnow, LCD +16.14, Francis44 +17.44, Raybak +19.75, Macd +55.23, Tannat +2:16.22
Stage 8 turned the leadboard upside down again. Francis44 took a narrow 3sec stage win from Macd with LCD and Raybak further back, but NeverKnow lost the lead after losing 24sec on this stage with bad tyre choices. With the fight for 2nd to 4th so close the little stage win margin allowed Francis44 to leapfrog into the lead of the rally for the first time. Postions after SS8 Francis44, NeverKnow +7.23, LCD +12.69, Raybak +21.15, Macd +41.07, Tannat +2:43.76
Francis44 won Chironhead II to extend his lead while coming up quietly in the background was Macd, gaining ground on those ahead while not winning stages. NeverKnow lost even more time on this stage to drop further back, while LCD and Raybak seemed to want to take their fight to the end. Leadboard after SS9 Francis44, LCD +22.24, Raybak +37.19, NeverKnow +42.26, Macd +45.55, Tannat +3:19.20
The final stage was a short blast through the RallySchool II stage but it still changed the leadboard. Francis44 took the stage win and therefore the victory and the title, but Macd was 2nd quickest again and therefore just missed taking 3rd from Raybak by less than a second! NeverKnow had another terrible stage, dropping 19sec to drop to 5th overall. So in the end the victory margin was 27sec but it had been a hectic rally throughout.
In the final championship standings Francis44 took the overall title by 14pts in the end from NeverKnow, with Macd securing 3rd in the title by 6pts from LCD, who tried very hard. BruceD used consistency to get 5th in the championship plus take the S2000 class crown. In the Teams championship OMV Red Bull Rally Team were the clear winners but Baker Motorsport managed to snatch 2nd in the end from GRACE Motorsport but it was well deserved because both Baker Motorsport drivers had driven brilliantly in the final round, especially Raybak. 52Paddy wrapped up the N3 title after being the only starter.

Well I like that stage alot, and I know it very well. I know where bumps are and the Citroen is just an amazing car, very steady under branking and under flatout corneering.

And X-ecutioner didn't pitch for this one either...
I tried, but couldn't. :D Was tied up in work from head to toe, working over time etc. I planned on doing my runs over the weekend in my free time, but went out of town. Hopefully I'll be able to enter the next one. :)
Looked like a very interesting and close rally! Congrats to Francis44 for the win, and LCD for a great second place.
