Could we make San Remo all tarmac? Two all tarmac rounds would be nice.
Other than that it all looks fab
Bruce D
2nd July 2010, 13:06
Could organise that.

Looks good!!!!
Looks great, but two completely tarmac rounds sounds good.
...
10-11 September 2010 - Formula 2 Rally...
What Is this...?

What Is this...?
Formula Cars are the A7 Kit Cars I believe. I'm not exactly sure of what F2 specs are but I think they're something along the lines of: Front Wheel Drive, 2 litre, normally aspirated engines (e.g. Ibiza Evo 2, Megane Maxi, Escort Maxi)
They aren't the easiest cars to drive either!
In relation to the calendar, looks fine by me  But, I've not much planned YET, for that time period. Should something turn up, I will have to see about my availability.
Bruce D
3rd July 2010, 15:46
Formula 2 was the 2 litre FWD cars used in the late 90's in various championships around the world. So yeah A7 K group cars. Thought these 2 fun events would be a real challenge.
...and what about the tracks you are going to use to make each round's Itenerary? Is It going to be only the default stages+ reversed or BTB,new stages, superspecials e.t.c. are all In the mix for season 3 too?
Bruce D
5th July 2010, 06:56
I will try to steer away from BTB stages, as per the poll (which I should actually show the results for some time), but the superspecials and new stages will be included, as well as default and reverse stages. The stages used in each event will mainly be the same, but I'll just tweak the events a bit for now.
...The stages used in each event will mainly be the same, but I'll just tweak the events a bit for now.
You mean the same stages used for season's 2 rallies...?
My opinion Is that for seasons3 should be used different tracks or at least most of them, to have some new combinations with weather + surface mod!
e.g. UK stages In gravel mod or snow mod, US stages In mixed mod e.t.c.
I know that In the real thing, special stages are the same every year,
but I'd like season's 3 shedule, not to remind us the previous season...
Bruce D
5th July 2010, 09:16
I'll work on making the stages different enough, don't worry. Certainly weather and surfaces might be different. For instance Finland will have more faster stages in it.

Have you thought of bringing back shakedown stages?
If everyone else want that of course...
Hear me out for a sec...
Since season3 calendar will have more tarmac rallies and If they are at least
4 or 5, how would It be, apart the main leaderboard to have 2 more,
updated after each round, concerning gravel and tarmac rallies separated!
This Is the format the National Greek Championship Is based on, as not all drivers
participate In all rounds and some are better on gravel and some
do better on tarmac!
So leaderboards would look like this:
RBR MF Cup leaderboard ( general standings )
RBR MF Gravel Cup ( Gravel rallies )
RBR MF Asphalt Cup ( Asphalt rallies )
So at the end of the season we will have 3 winners!!!
How do you find the Idea?
Bruce D
7th July 2010, 09:16
It could work, I don't see why not. Wasn't planning on that many tarmac rounds but apparently all you Europeans think rallying takes place on Tarmac only. :p I don't see why we can't have seperate standings though. Was also thinking of introducing a Rookie of the Year Cup as well, for anyone new to the series.

Nice to hear you like the Idea!
We could also have some special awards, after each rally :
e.g. Man Of The Rally ( who wins most stages )
Last In Line ( who Is last In most stages )
Top Driver ( who always reserves his top3 position, after each stage )
and stuff like that... ;)
Was also thinking of introducing a Rookie of the Year Cup as well, for anyone new to the series.
You should need enough new entries, to start up such thing you know....

Downloaded the B cars today-bit disappointed in the lack of selection.
No Lancia?
No Toyota Twincam turbo?
No Metro 6R4?
No Citroen Bx4TC? :p
Bruce D
15th July 2010, 06:49
I am surprised about the Metro too but then it's not that popular in France! :p
Am I right that there used to be a Lancia S4 in the RSRBR09 mod?

Do we have a new logo for season 3 ? I'm just about finished livering OMV's cars and needed a logo for the number boards.

I'm delighted to announce that after intense contract discussions, I have agreed to join Neverknow and Macd as the third driver in OMV Redbull. I hope the 3rd driver role will allow me some time to get up to the speed of the championship regulars and eventually go all out for the title by next year. My new car is a Ford Focus 09, and testing starts tomorrow!

After some testing I think I'll be starting the season in a Pug 206. It is such an easy drive with very reasonable speed.
Had also considered the Hyundai and 307 which felt good in my hands...
I believe Paddy and I will team up again, but need a different name other than Equipe au Memphis...

I'll take the C4 aswell as it rarely had problems last season.
Regarding team I dont know if Baker Motorsport will still run, if it dosen't, then it's official, Im looking for a new team.

One option might be to have more WRC events, and when the SAIRC expires go to rallies every other week.
perhaps mimic a late 90's WRC calendar.....

No problem. Let's join forces again mate :D
Not sure what car I'll use. I'm very busy moving out of home to go back to uni in September at the moment so I can't test that much for a while.
As for team names, Equipe au Dublin? ;)

I may consider doing some rounds later in the championship. I do have richard burns rally for pc, but I'm trying to find a good steering wheel(playing it on a laptop keyboard is rock-hard) are the mods legal and easy to install? I'm running windows 7 if thats of any importance.

I'm working on the wording at the moment but there will be a bit more relaxation as far as what mods to use in the future.

I'd like to see the return of a shakedown stage :) this gives us the ability to see how quick everyone else is before the start of the Event :D
Bruce D
6th September 2010, 06:34
Maybe so - but people would have to post their own times as I don't have the time to manage all that and the rally. I'll consider it as I'm looking into the routes this week.
lcd
6th September 2010, 07:25
You could just announce the shakedown stage and leave It free to post our times! I'm In.
@Macd: we may get a picture who's really fast based on shakedown times
but couldn't really tell how the actual rally turns out, as we can't run each stage more than once...
So shakedown would be more just for fun, I suppose... ;)
