The British Rally Championship moves to Isle of Man next weekend... Looking at the entry list, Mark Higgins is at the top. With all the usual top drivers and co-drivers also in action, this rally will be exciting.

Who do you think will win this event?

There was no doubts (in R4) before this day, but now I have to guess:

R4 = K. Cronin
R3 = E. Evans
R2 = Finnish surprise ;)
R1 = M. Pajunen

It will also be my first trip to Island. I´m really looking forward to see some serious rallying.

Is there any ´legendary´ places to watch in stages? And are the stages easily accessible; walking distance?

Patrick Snijers, winner of the Manx in 1988, will be there. He will drive one SS for the fun.

Mark Higgins, who has won this event five times before, will not be there in his rally overalls this weekend. This then leaves Gwyndaf Evans a chance at the win. He is the only other driver in the field to have won this specialised event, remember...

Patrick Snijers will be there, but as was rightly pointed out by Wim, will only be rallying on one stage so he doesn't count.

My guess? Gwyndaf Evans for the win, followed by Keith Cronin and Alistair Fisher in the top class.

We will have to wait and see!

Have fun!

With a little planning you can get a lot of stages in quite easily. Stages are very accessable and there is usually not much walking involved in fact in many places you can drive very close to the stage depending on how late you leave it. Lots of legendary places to watch and no visit to the Manx is complete without a trip up to Brandywell cottage where ( as long the fog dosnt roll in ) you will be able to see the cars all the way/up down Druidale. There are some famous jumps not far the cottage which are run in both directions normally. The programme should give you all the info you require.

Thanks sal. I will :-) This is just what I meant.

It looks like the weather will be the issue next weekend in the Isle. So plenty of action coming. It´s a pity that gr B. cars are not in the rally..

But Gwydaf hasn't won the International event, although he did win the Historic Rally last year by over 5 minutes. He is, along with Cronin, one of the favourites.
