Group B Daihatsu Charade 926R

Picked up the donor car for a lot of parts for our Charade Gp B project today. We are trying to recreate the Charade 926R that was built for the WRC but never rallied due to Gp B being banned.

Hoping to run the car in the Allcomers event at Rally Australia next year.

A bit of progress over the weekend. Stripped the front off both cars, worked out that there is plenty of differences in the radiator support and light surrounds, so have to unpick the front off the 4 door and weld it onto the 2 door.

What type of gearbox/ transaxle do you intend to run in the Charade ?

We will be using a Daihatsu box with straight cut gears. Basically we are just raiding our parts to build the car.

The engine for the car has now arrived, with plenty of spares that were a bit unexpected. So the kit is growing.

Have to finish the other Charade first though so it can be gone from my Workshop.
