What's your favorite video game ever?

I don't get much time for it now (gaming) but I've had a few over the years that I have locked myself in a room to complete. The first was Echo the dolphin, then FIFA'95, GTA but probably my favourite, and the one I still go back to once in a while, is Civilization on the PC. What about you 00?

I still am into video games when i get the time.

FIFA 98 road to world cup was an absolute classic, and naturally I've loved all the grand theft auto's. especially the first one:great memories!

plus the old F1 games on the PS1 were great (the original F1 and F1 97) and naturally I stuck to great racing games like the toca series.

Yeah FIFA '98 was superb, as was TOCA 2.

I know it's generic but my current favourite is still MW2. I was playing Spec Ops online with a mate yesterday and it's fantastic.

Colin McRae Rally (the original one) awesome game.

Road to the world cup 98 was great! I loved the fact that you could turn the ref off and just kick the crap out of each other :p

Of late I've been playing Left 4 Dead.

Me and my brother used to do that and one person would keep fouling the keeper while the other shot from miles out :D I miss the intentional foul button, there was a certain satisfaction about pushing someone over :D Also you could dive when you double tapped R1, I managed to win a penalty by doing that once.

Yeah I LOVED the dive button as well. I bet a few Italians wore that button out :p

Toca 2 was my favourite, but the Halo series has been a fav of mine too. The days of having 8 player games with by mates were great.

If we're being nostalgic, I loved Goldeneye. What a fantastic game..... Used to love 4 player with friends. I had a habit of walking in on 2 people having a ****fight and gunning them both down :D

Grand Prix 2 & 4

Indycar Racing sims & NASCAR sims from Papyrus. Sadly I never got into Grand Prix Legends because I never fully appreciated the 1960s because I was really into oval racing in the late 90s.

Pro Evo from 2004-09. Funnily I've lost the knack of playing footie games even though I still want to try out FIFA.

Gran Tourismo/Forza

Resident Evil 2

Shenmue 2

Daytona USA

Street Fighter 2

Tekken series

Splinter Cell

FIFA from 08 onwards pisses all over Pro Evo. For some reason PES seems to have largely stood still while FIFA10 is miles beyond FIFA07 and 08.

another footballing classic (for me at least) was This Is Football 2005. shed loads of leagues (even more than FIFA-and a better distribution around the world) and international teams, plus special teams like the school teams and classic sides like 70s liverpool and 50s hungary. packed with loads of fun!

gameplay wasn't great but was fun, I always loved the hack/dive button!

as of late Red Dead Redemption has taken the limelight, great game for me.

anyone remember the PS1 game pandamonium? absolute classic!

Deus Ex

Have you seen the trailer from E3 for the next Deus Ex?

I spent hours on that game just re-arranging my office to have the chairs and sofas in it and basically stealing stuff from other peoples offices. It got infuriating at times though because it was such an epic game. I lost days running around the Chinese bit and being confused :D

Yeah the trailer for Deus Ex 3 looks rather nifty indeed. How the game will play is another matter entirely of course!

I hope they make a System Shock 3. Having a game with the setting and atmosphere of System Shock 2 in a modern gameworld would be amazing. I suppose people might argue that Bioshock is the modern System Shock, but Bioshock is not as outright frightening as its illustrious predecessor.
