Haha, saw the results this morning and the first thought I had was Moto2 must've been wet! Onya Westy.
Nice to see that there is universal praise for the circuit. It sounds fast which is always exciting. Hopefully Stoner and Ducati have found a bit to give Lorenzo the hurry-up and see the red beast back on the podium for the first time this year. Super impressed with Aleix Espargaro too, 8th is a terrific (early) effort. Also glad to see De Puniet continue on his good form. I read that he did a track day earlier in the week. Imagine being rounded up by him! People would ride off the track in awe!

I had the same feeling, with also the very nice 3rd place of Xavier Siméon. He is also a rain master. It is so long ago that a Belgian did a top 3 position in a practice in a World Championship. I really hope there will be more rain today and tomorrow.

Watching the qualifying, I couldn't believe the empty spaces in the Grandstands. A combination of World cup, extremely high prices and maybe lack of interest. Sad :(

Shocking qualifying from Suzuki, I wonder how long the bosses can put up with these performances and the lack of success?

Huge highside for Aoyama in warmup down at Vale, he didnt get back up and had to be stretchered away.

Be interesting to see if many turn out for WSBK.

I haven't watched a MotoGP race in over 2 years. I even get free tickets (in a corporate box) and don't bother any more.

And now with another of the grid fillers falling in warmup there will be 15 starters......

High ticket prices and a lack of Rossi would probably be the reason why there dosnt seem to be many people there. And the fact that there just simply isnt enough riders in the main event which Dorna needs to sort out ASAP!

Amazing Moto 2 race though :D

Can't believe Nicky got fourth again.. When is he going to step up the podium this year?

Was thinking of going when I heard about tickets on the gate but they're £75 for general admission and the grandstand upgrades are bit of joke.

Wasn't it about £50 for Donny?

Yea i paid £50-55 last year. The beeb rekon there was 70,000 there but im not so sure about that!

Brilliant 125 race though, how the hell did Espagaro keep that thing rubber side down, incredible! Great to see Bradders on the podium though, even if he did need a bit of luck to get it :D

MotoGP
Another runaway victory for the Yamaha and I reckon the winning margin could have been extended to 10 secs if Lorenzo chose. A good fight for the minor placings between Dovi, Spies and Hayden and de Puniet earlier on. Great for Spies to get his first podium.

Moto 2
Great racing again.

125cc
Terrific racing with Marquez v Espagaro, Smith & Terol v Vazquez.

Australian hosting on Channel One a bit ordinary although they had Jeremy Burgess in the studio.

As some one who has become far more interested in bike racing in recent times I have to say I thought the Moto2 race and the 125s were some of best motorsport of any kind I've seen on tv. I think I'm safe in assuming the F1 race from Sstone wont be as good!

It is interesting that there seems to be a direct correlation between the top level of most forms of motorsport (WRC,WTCC, MotoGP etc) that the support or feeder series are more popular and well supported and provide in the main more spectacle. I'll certainly be tuning in on the red button for all future Moto2 races this year!

Well Sal ol pal.....welcome....you're in for a smorgasbord of pleasure.

After the MotoGP racing has finished (on European circuits) there is also the Red Bull Rookies Cup and race videos can be viewed on http://www.redbullrookiescup.com/videos.php which is the primary feeder series for the young guns wishing to get into the 125 gp class.

Add to that the World Superbike series and British Superbikes series and if you really want to end up with the backside puckering like a goldfishes mouth, watch race replays and on-board videos of the Irish Roadracing series and Isle of Man TT usually available on You Tube.

All race dates are included on the Combined Calendar available on this site.
