Banbridge driver Lawrence Gibson scored a dramatic win in the Super Final at Sunday's Carlow CC Rallycross at Mondello Park when multiple champion Dermot Carnegie's Metro, which had led for the first four laps, slowed thanks to an electrical problem and was forced to tour around slowly for the remaining two laps, dropping to fifth place.

Gibson took over top place and won easily from the less powerful 1600 two wheel drive Metro of Gavin Jess, with the Nova of Chris Grimes in third place.
