Alright you clowns. That car was designed and built by a true automotive genius, Ettore Bugatti, not only long before you were a gleam in your parent's eyes it was probably before your parents were a gleam in your grandparent's eyes. :D :p

And you too drifter. If i recall correctly that model was something around 1935 - surely you weren't running around in short trousers back then

A thing of beauty, when I was a kid I dad a book on exotic cars with illustrations rather than photos and the details in sketched watercolours... and the one that always intrigued me was the Atlantic with it's ostrich hide interior and the two halve riveted construction.

It is very hard to justify such prices for what is after all a car and not a unique one at that (although pretty close) but if I had to think of a car to be the crème de la crème I would have pick this one (The 250GTO is a good callas well)

Not a gleam but maybe a wink in my parent's eyes. They were still a couple of years from getting married.
Scotty G was running around then though. Probably dreaming of being a riding mechanic at Indy. :p :

I concur on the 250GTO. Closest I got was racing against a couple (and losing).

Wasn't it nice of Eki to show us a picture of himself and his ability as a automotive designer? :rotflmao:

Was Dr Peter Williamson the one who left it covered in his garage for many years?

Drifter if you were just a wink in 35...I am surprised..I would have thought that Bug might have raced against you at some point...lol

Back then Oshawa was turning out horse drawn wagons and you went to the little house out back to do your abolutions! :p :

Nope...that was my grandfather...lol....and we were building cars from 1905...you must have some other town...maybe Orillia and their Tudhope roadsters?

Yep. You had Col. Sam.
We still have a Tudhope in the foyer at Orillia City Hall and both Tudhope and Col. Sam's cars became part of Generous Motors.
But neither of their cars are worth anything near what a Bugatti is worth. :D

I prefer the 250 GT California the 250 GT SWB and 250TR to the 250GTO, and above all the 166 MM Barchetta!

$30 million it maybe but BUTT UGLY it most certainly is! Some people obviously have way too much time and money on their hands. It might be old, it might be extremely rare and it might well have been built by one of the greatest car builders that ever lived but like Henners said, I wouldn't swap my wife's Astra for it if I didn't see the badge.

So would I, but Bugatti's were unique to their time, and THAT car was the state of the art in that prewar era...
