Is the 2010 Red Bull the current equivalent of the 1992 Williams?

It seems that RB have ironed out their reliability issues, the Renault now has decent grunt, and the latest updates put the car out of reach of the rest.

What happens if they incorporate an F-Duct later in the season....

I await with bated breath how the RB's look after the soft tyre, but I think positions 1 & 2 tomorrow will become insignificant........

Several things are pretty evident early in this season. Adrian Newey is a genius and he clearly knows how to design a car. Red Bull doesn't need an F-Duct as they are almost 1 second per lap faster than everyone else.

So far the great equalizer is wet weather races and RB's reliability. Too early to say wether they have solved those issues and the same goes for Ferrari's engine issues.

As Martin Whitmarsh stated after qualy: "It's Red Bulls race to lose" !

We have to keep in mind, however, that Barcelona is a track which rewards good aero cars and some tracks are different. Also sometimes the advantage of a car may disappear, like McLaren in the middle of 1998 or Brawn GP last year. Even so, Newey clearly is a great designer and has outsmarted his colleagues in Mercedes GP, McLaren and Ferrari, which is very impressive.

The RBR is the fastest car, but not the best team IMO. On the other hand, the others also make mistakes, so this makes the championship really interesting.

1992 Williams? Red Bull is not that good. Williams was often 2 secs per lap faster, RBR is nowhere near close this. Comparison with McLaren from 1998 (not the Oz form, where they were lapping everyone) or Brawn from the beginning of 2009 is more valid.

I agree. The remind me of the late 90s McLarens very much. Very fast, but fragile.

More like the 2005 McLaren.

Agreed. But if so, poor Seb.

IMO the 2005 wasn't that dominant, until the last races of the season and by that time Renault controlled the gap pretty easily.

The other teams got no answer to Adrian. The money is there to.
