Kenseth talks about Martinsville contact with Gordon: Is Matt Kenseth still upset with Jeff Gordon over getting bumped out of the way during the green-white-checkered flag finish at Martinsville? During an interview in Arlington, Texas on Wednesday, Performance Racing Network and Texas Motor Speedway announcer Brad Gillie asked Kenseth about the incident. Kenseth chuckled and said "He never likes the way I race him so&I don't know&he's honestly taken me out of three top-three finishes now and he still went on to finish third. I barely bumped into him at Martinsville and got under him and tried to go for a win and I thought we were gonna race side-by-side for the win on the last lap and instead he decided to wreck me and deliberately try to ruin my day. So, it's in the past and I'm just gonna move on and just start over the next week. He's gonna have to race how he wants to race and he's gonna have his opinions and I'm gonna have my opinions on things and we'll just go on from there." Kenseth took part in NASCAR's winners circle program at the International Bowling Hall of Fame and museum Wednesday to help promote the upcoming races at Texas Motor Speedway.(PRN Garage Pass)(4-8-2010)

Get over it already, Matt. Its a short track race. You bumped him out of the way on the restart, and he returned the favor in short order.

Matt does have a thing about the 24. I remember Jeff turning him around at Kansas one year, and it was pointless then because it was obvious to anyone but a blind man that Matt wasn't going to be fast enough to stop the 24, and he didn't try, and Jeff still spun him around. With these two, it is personal.

Actually, that was Chicagoland in 2006, but yeah, that was payback for Bristol earlier that year when Matt took him out on the last lap...you're right, it IS personal, and if the 17 tries something at Phoenix, Jeff's gonna be on his own 3 race probation. :D

I don't see Jeff doing anything in the same race ala edwards and leffnuts because he was trained by the master himself.....take care of it later, at another time and place, and at least attempt to make it look like an accident :D

You mean he was victimized by the #3, like everyone else? :)

Nope....for some reason Dale Sr took a liking to Jeff and took him under his wing and showed him the ropes. Although we Earnhardt and them Gordon fans couldn't stand each others driver (or each other, for that matter) I honestly can't remember a time that the two of them had an altercation on the track.

In his post race interview Gordon said "I made sure Kenseth didn't win it either" :D

I stand corrected, but that just goes to show how one cookie cutter starts to look the same as the other ones.....
Jeff wasn't subtle at all that day, went to the Winner's Circle, and the only people upset were in the 17 camp. NASCAR didn't say boo.....and I wonder, if Jeff was a "villian" and people didn't like him, would that little incident have warranted a "probation"?
NASCAR loves this feuding on track I think..they just pay lip service to stopping it.

Matt was asked a question and he gave an answer . A 24 fan complaning about Kenseth whining , is like the pot's fans complaning about the kettle's blackness . Matt should be upset , and angry , he was a straight away from a win on a track that has vexed him , a year long top ten streak , and the points lead . Gordon gave up the bottom of the track to try and wreck the 39 and Matt dove in there . The only heavy contact from the 17 car was from Denny's punting everything in between him and the checkers . Gordons little move did nothing to regain track position . After the race he confessed taking the 17 out . Well Gordon get ready for it because it is comming!!!! And when pay back comes we will see the biggest crybaby in motorsports in action .

I of course should just take all this as gospel because you are totally unbiased right?? Ya...thought so...
I don't like the 24 much at all most of the time, and I do like Matt, but on this one, he shouldn't say diddly squat to the media.
AS for getting even, I guess you are all for it if it is your guy putting someone in the stands while still in their car? Or was Edwards a little over the top pushing the Keselowski Dodge onto it's lid?
See, this getting even stuff in NASCAR just tears up cars, maybe gets people hurt and god forbid kills people. Now you can talk like this is just a macho deal, but please, spare me this nonsense. Jeff and Matt don't like each other, I get that. Jeff pushed Matt out of the way at Martinsville and that stunk. I get that too, but if you think Matt is going to outright wreck Jeffypoo, you are dreaming. Kenseth is WAY smarter than that, and in time, these two will work it out.
The 24 can be one of the dirtiest drivers out there, but most of the top guys have their moments where they have subtly moved people. It is part of the game....

Mark , you are correct on all counts . 1) Biggest Matt fan on this forum. 2)Kenseth should have lied to the reporter and said : ya ,that Jeffy Gordon what a gracefull smart driver . 3) Yes I am all for it if it is my gye putting someone who has it comming on there lid , but 4) on the straight at 180 mph was over the line. 5) Like it or not , for better or worse , the new rules (or lack there of ) dictate that if you punt your way to victory, or dump someone who you think has it comming , thats ok, thats part of the sport now . And 6) the worse thing that could come of it is a driver , or even worse a fan, gets hurt . 7) yes macho deals are nonsense. 8)Jeff stunk at Martinsville 9) Matt is a smart driver , and yes 10) Matt is the master of the "phantom push" . And that is the type of retalliation I am calling for , not a Big Daddy Don ( upside down, backwards, on fire), just wiggle the little @#$ and make him finish 18th rather than a top 5. You cant get a reputation as someone who can just be pushed around (like Sliced Bread), but you also cant be dragged into a Hattfield and MaCoy wreck fest . Championships are more importent than revenge and I'm going to keep on pulling for the 17 .

I fully expect the #17 to look like this by the end of the race

So basically on any thread involving Matt, we can expect totally biased opinion on the subject from your corner...lol
Matt is a good and smart driver, but in this little feud he is having with the 24, he cannot win the battle with the press. Whining like Jeff does wont get it done. The thing is tho, Matt is too blunt to hide his dislike, but in the end, you look worse for it. He has to get past it....

Matt had his chance for payback last night at the end to do the same thing to Gordon and didnt try anything, so Matt is just pulling a Edwards until a cookie cutter track I guess
