Last night I was standing outside the vet's clutching a crate carrying two newly dead chickens (stomach bug they brought from the previous home had caused it) when my mobile rang. It was a customer from my pet food shop saying he's bringing me a dog ASAP as he can't keep it. Apparently I had shown an interest in rehoming it should the need arise

So, this morning I took delivery of a small 8 month old Jack Russell dog. My Saluki hates it and tried eating it (ear first) within seconds. I may rename the poor thing Van Gogh ....

Anyway, he's nice enough but disrupting a busy week. We're keeping him, so need a name. Not Patch, the name he arrived with and the name of every black and white Jack Russell I know :mark:

He's just peed on the carpet and eaten an inkjet cartridge, so name him fast before either Kipper eats him or I choke him trying to bring back another plastic meal :p :

Comedy names only. Nothing serious.

Every Jack Russell I have ever seen is cute as anything, but hell on wheels. So maybe Damion?

"Cos he likes pasta?"
"No. He has worms"

Cheers Eki, but we already ruled that out as far too predictable.

Inkjet's funny, but my partner says no in case something better comes along.

He's ear's infected already :mark:

My brothers Jack Russell is called Lizzie.

He isn't very imaginative with names. His cat is called Kat. :\

How about "Lefty", a good, whimsical, gangster nickname for the backalley scoundrel he seems to be. Plus, when people ask "Why Lefty?" you can say "Because he's left-handed, just watch him eat." and walk off.

Well you already have Naburn. So isn't the next in the sequence Stillingfleet?!

Why doesn't he call his dog Russell, Jack Rusle?

Fousto?

Can't do it, Hazell's dog is pure bred, not a mutt.

Come to think of it, I dont think her dog barks at people with skin darker then plain paper either...

JRT's aren't a pedigree dog so Fousto would be very much appropriate :p

Fousto is more of a JVT than a JRT.

Any chance of avian influenza, Hazell?

Can you get a free pathology from a governemnt agency? (VLA?)

Interesting...name the dog eh? He Jack's never lack spunk or spirit, ...call him AJ if you want a racing theme. AJ Foyt is the human equivalent of a JRT....

Failing that...I like Fiero's suggest of Lefty...

No, just a simple chicken protazoa thingy.

We've called him Sheldon.
As Big Bang Theory fans, there was no other choice. Although Stillingfleet would've been funny if we'd read the thread before watching TV :p :

While I was ordering by phone from a wholesaler this morning, young Sheldon 'produced' some foam earplugs and half digested grass on the carpet next to me. He's a charmer
