View Full Version : CMR2 WRC Round 3 Jordan

The Jordan Rally has been a round of the Middle Eastern Rally Championship since the 1980s, but it wasn't until 2008 that it made its debut on the world stage, when Jordan became the first Arab country to host a round of the WRC. After a year out in 2009 the event returns this year.

This is a rally of extremes. From scorching temperatures - which can top 40 degrees Celsius - to the wild landscape the sandy gravel stages snake through. This year some of the 2008 stages have been modified and others replaced altogether in an effort to introduce more variety to the route, which starts in the forests north of Amman at altitudes of more than 1000 metres, then concentrates in and around the Jordan Valley at around 400 metres below sea level.

SINGLE RALLY MODE

Day 1 Greece Xpert (11 stages)
Day 2 Safari Novice (5 stages)
Day 3 Oz Novice (4 stages)

SHAKEDOWN: Greece SS3

TIMES DUE SUNDAY, April 4 AT MIDNIGHT.

Good luck!

Nice variance in stages there, looks like it'll be fun. I don't expect to be terribly competitive, but still :D

After missing the last one I'm itching to get the Ford back out on course.

Hey tannat - I've got a slight (by slight I mean big) issue. I can't do novice rallies - when I click on it my PC freezes - any hints to solve it?.

If not could you tell me what stages are included in the novice rally, and I'll do both Oz and Safari in Expert mode but only record the 5 stages in Safari and 4 in Oz that make up a novice rally. Thanks.

I'm on PS1- so no tips..

For day 2 and 3 do stages 1-4 and the superspecial, so five stages for each.

Thanks!

Well, unfortunately it's looking like I'm going to be out of commission indefinitely. I've had issues with my video card running hot for a while, but now that the weather is warming up I can't get the ambient room temp down enough to keep the card cool. A minute or two of just about any game is enough to bring it all crashing down.

Until I can afford to revamp the cooling I'm pretty much done with games of any type. :(

As there are only two sets of times thus far (including mine) this is not a problem....

Day one of Rally Jordan set the stage for what evolved into perhaps the most closely fought round ever of the CMR2 WRC :D

At the end of the rocky and twisty stages for day one German finished on top, although less than half a second ahead of Tannat, and less than 1.5 seconds ahead of jso1985!

1— German----------------Peugeot-------27:35.37
2— Tannat-----------------Subaru---------27:35.84
3— jso1985----------------Subaru---------27:36.84

It was anyone’s rally to be won, or lost…….

tannat
6th April 2010, 18:34
Day two saw a change in the scenery with the stages opening a bit and a much shorter day. German enhanced his lead ever so slightly, the Peugeot driver finishing 3+ seconds over Tannat, with the Subaru pair separated by less than 3 tenths of a second!

Combined day one and day 2 results

1— German----------------Peugeot-------36:42.95
2— Tannat-----------------Subaru---------36:46.45
3— jso1985----------------Subaru---------36:46.66

On to the final day….

maxrally210

I'll send my result a bit later if it's still possible.
P.S. Damn, while I was writing this the results have been posted :(

tannat
6th April 2010, 18:44
Day three say Tannat seize the lead on the second stage and never relinquishing it ,and with a fine run on the closing stage of the rally jso1985 was able to make it a Subaru one two, finishing just less than 1.5 seconds ahead of the Peugeot of German.

Overall results

1— Tannat-----------------Subaru---------47:32.03
2— jso1985----------------Subaru---------47:43.10
3— German----------------Peugeot--------47:44.53

I regret the low turnout, but really a great rally. Cheers to each of you

Looks like great competition - would have liked to be involved. Unfortunately last night I had a bit of an unexpected accident and had to pop to A&E and have been lying in bed at home all day today so couldn't do the rally. It's a shame but good to see the rally was good fun for those who could do it.

Congratulations to all. Once again, I repeat, is a pleasure to ride with very good drivers. In the third stage, I was delayed several times and me, but I am very happy with the results. We see in the next rally. Salud!
