Ferrari 250 TR engine. I love a massively carbureted engine, and if its a V12 all the better! Clip is of the Breadvan.

One of my favorites of all time: the Ferarri V12 F1 engines of the past are hard to beat when it comes to sound.

I also find the sound of the 2.65 liter CART engines to be very pleasing to the ear. I still have a file full of track sounds recorded at Laguna Seca. The way they'd bark during gear changes was like porn to my ears.

I love that sound clip. I love that Nick Mason is such a genuine petrolhead that he recorded that and included a CD with his book so the reader can experience the noise of such great cars.

I'm still a great fan of the 6R4 though, it may not have the best sound on it's own but it's the connotations that make it great for me.

ok..I have heard that...but they never show that sucker in full flight....lol

the best sound for that motor is in the front end of a Mustang or Spitfire as it does a high speed pass.....

I've attended very few top level auto races, but being able to experience the debut of the Ferrari 333SP was really quite an event.

I've never been to Indy, and F1 engines have been turning over 13000 rpms for quite awhile (this was the redline on the 333SP, I believe), but hearing those cars winding it out on the back straight at Road Atlanta was incredible....

God, who picks that bloody music anyway? Don't worry after one minute it moves on to engine bliss... :s

The F1 v10 at Indy was incredible, once the TC had kicked out...all the broken engine sound was not that pleasant, but once it hit full song........during Friday practice, the sound was best up in turn one as it started down the long main straight as the empty seats, being alumimun, added to the sound, reflecting and resonating as well.....Screamer!!!!
