From MotoGP site....

"The Secretary of State for Spanish Tourism, Joan Mesquida, and the CEO of Dorna Sports, Carmelo Ezpeleta, have today announced an agreement for the promotion of Spain as a major tourism destination through the MotoGP World Championship at a press conference at the Ministry for Industry, Tourism and Commerce."

I don't believe it is good policy for a world championship series of this calibre to promote or openly align itself with any particular country on an ongoing basis and reckon that other countries that host MotoGP events to promote tourism and trade in their own cities or countries will be justifiably annoyed.

I hope for the sake of the series and Dorna that this move does not backfire on them.

Good for them but it reflects very poorly on Dorna and FIM.
