When copying & pasting from a MicroSoft Word Document to post here,
you will get unwanted font, color, etc brackets ...
Example : xxxxxxxxxxxxx-posted text-xxxxxxxxxxxxx

The way I remedy this is to open another forum in a seperate browser. (NOT another part of MSF)
I copy from the MicroSoft Word Document & paste the text in the reply box of the other forum ...
I then cut the text from the reply box of the other forum & paste it in the reply box here @ MSF ...
using the other forum in this manner removes all of the commands that MicroSoft Word imbeds. :D

(No, you don't have to post at the other forum.) ;)

In stupidly long posts, tend to use Wordpad, i haven't had any problems with using it, it's also lighter than Word so you save the planet as well. :)

Paste to notepad, cut it again then repaste here - eliminates all formatting and takes text back to its simplest form :D

Yup, there's no need to use another website. Most people have nopepad and it only takes a fraction of a second to load, I have it in my quickstart toolbar.

Same here. Don't know why you'd go to all the effort of opening word up :mark:

Well, I use MicroSoft Word to process different information ...
I am able to insert tables & I am familiar with it ...
I will use Notepad & see if it does what I need most of the time ...
however when I need to process something I will use MicroSoft Word ...

When I copy & paste a table and I want to remove certain columns or change the order ...
Notepad won't do it but MicroSoft Word will. :D
I can process it in MicroSoft Word, then copy & paste it into Notepad for posting here. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/spin2.gif

As to "all the effort of opening word up", it opens just like Notepad, I just click a button.

me too dave, seems a lot of extra effort to be typing stuff up in other programs first, do people do this to avoid spelling and grammar issues? :s

I've used Notepad/Notepads if i'm writing a long post that needs quotes from different sources or is simply a hassle to do in the browser, also if it's a long post it's nice to have a backup in case the forum or browser crashes.
If i just reply with a smiley, i very seldom outsource the editing to Notepad. ;)

Like I stated before, I use tables a lot.
Word accepts c&p tables so I can edit them to post.

Which would you rather see ?
