This is a very hard post for me to make. Tom Lunney passed away today, he was only 32. Tom was my first ever codriver way back in 2001. We have been mates for a long time, helping each other out with our rally cars. Being a stage team for Rally of Canberra, and just being good mates.
Tom has been ill for quite a while and was on the list for a heart and lung transplant. He held his head high and tried to maintain a normal life. For the last 5 months or so he was hospital bound, then was eventually allowed to move out of the hospital into an apartment not far away from the hospital. He was also hoping to move back to Murrumbatem(just near Canberra) this week.
Tom has a brand new rally car that he has built, he has never driven it competitively. It was going to be there for when he overcame his illness.
Tom was a guy of few words, but when he spoke you listened. We have had some great times together over the years.
Tom I will never forget you.
RIP
