Argentines Francisco Lotero, 56, and Miriam Coletti, 23, shot their children before killing themselves after making an apparent suicide pact over fears about global warming.

Their son Francisco, two, died instantly after being hit in the back.

But their unnamed daughter cheated death after the bullet from her dad's handgun missed her vital organs.

Paramedics rushed her to hospital covered in blood when police alerted by worried neighbours discovered the massacre three days later.

The youngster is recovering in hospital in the town of Goya in the northern Argentine province of Corrientes, where doctors say she is out of danger.

Her parents said they feared the effects of global warming in a suicide note discovered by police.[quote/]

Just another human being that, regardless of trigger, i.e. Global Warming, the IRS, lost job, lost home, religeous doctrine lost wife/girlfriend, etc., became more afraid of living than dying.

Yes, but why do these loosers always have to take innocent people with them? Especially children? So sad.

If you're really such a looser that you "can't handle the world anymore, etc. etc", whatever the excuse is this time, please give others the chance to "handle" things in their own way.

Don't mistake this as justification for what he or anybody like him did or does, but the only difference between you and him is that you haven't yet been pushed beyond your absolute breaking point. Who knows what happens to your thinking after that? He may have thought he was doing them all a favor. None of us know until get we get past the point and then, unfortunately, don't realize we are past it.

This post made me think of the movie The Fisher King with Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams. I came away from that movie thinking just how thin the line between sanity and insanity really is.

THAT is a fantastic movie, and it does show how one turning point can change a life....
