I've been hearing a bit lately about Tapatalk (http://www.tapatalk.com/) which on face value looks a better way to browse forums on iPhone's, Android and Nokia mobiles.

Has anyone used it?

Is this bulletin board supported (phpBB or vBulletin)? If so the admin needs to do a few basic steps to make it available on Tapatalk (http://www.tapatalk.com/en/plugin)

Cheers

Sounds like a solution to a problem which doesn't exist. Browsing the forum on my Nokia is fine, although the mobile colour scheme is a little gaudy.

Indeed, you just need to select the mobile style and it will appear in a format suitable for mobile phones. I use it all the time.

In any case you need to pay US$2.99 for the application where the forums mobile style is free (and advert free too)

That being said, I may look into doing it once there is a Nokia version available so I can test it.

I'd prefer to try a trial version before I go spending the whole of £3 on it though :p

Unfortunately we don't have a new enough version of vBulletin for it to work properly with the forum. I have installed the module and it gives the forums and lets you log in but doesn't show any threads..

In any case the software itself is a bit clunky. You have to go to the forums, then choose which subcategory you want, then which forum you want, each of which takes a while to load. The mobile skin is actually much faster!

It looks like a good application for those forums who refuse to make a mobile style, but I don't think it's any real substitute for a good clutter free style.
