Although I'm absolutely shocked to see this website running, I'd assume it is some fan boy running an online league and paid the server fee to use the champcar-ws.com url.

Scary stuff....it looks legit if you were naive to believe it but alas, it only actually exists in the minds of a few members of the Plourde family....

Can you say delusions of grandeur? I wonder how long before they get a cease and desist order from the lawyers of P&G, McDonald's, Mid Ohio etc.

Hey, we all know this site is a fake. But I must say, it's pretty well done! And oh, given the current state of affairs in ow, wouldn't it be nice if it was real? Give 'em credit for having a good dream. Some people build model rail layouts, and some people build model ow series layouts. Let 'em have their fun!

It doesn't bother me if there was a disclaimer for the naive....but I suspect McDonalds and Medizone are NOT happy about no copyright permission...

Although if they can keep the old site running it would bring back the reminiscent feeling, but this one isn't disturbing to me the slightest. But the site wasn't exactly well done though.

Someone needs to point out the differences between the helmets of Justin Wilson and Graham Rahal.

Looks like a school project to me.

Since he has a link to Ticketmaster on the "Tickets" section, it would be fun to see if anyone calls Ticketmaster looking for tickets to the 2010 GP of Portland or Phoenix ...and the look on the faces of the Ticketmaster empoyees. ;)

Remember that woman that signed on looking for that guy playing her with his stories about being a race driver? Talk about Fantasy League. hmmmm.

And it isn't even April 1st.

The "Sheri Plourde" car is actually a picture of Katherine Legge in a Coyne car.

It is amazing that some people might actually not recognize a spoof site. Looks like a bored website designer having some fun.

this goes further... did you check out the Plourdes driver pages on the site?
Pix (yeah...um) Bio, stats and all... I would not post such stuff on the Web even If I had my share of computer fantasy racing back then!

maybe they think CC is so dead nobody will find it.

Yeah, she was kind of "special". Something about him being a Ferrari racer/tester, who also drove in CART(?), and hung out at the Ferrari factory and had full access to their road cars? She was concerned that he was taking her daughter for a ride (in more ways than one :eek :) .

I just glanced at it, but this site seems really well made. Maybe the IRL should hire this guy. If not for the website, then maybe to run the whole show! :dozey:

Well made? Its horrific with those looooooooong pages that require scrolling forever. No, sorry the design is as amateurish as the concept.

I wont dispute that. I was astonished tho to the length's these guys went to put detail and realism into it though. I would have to say it is very disturbing why anyone would go to that much detail to live out a fantasy world....
