First 1/18 BTCC models are coming?

AUTOart has confirmed that they'll be making two Volvo 850's which Rickard Rydell used to race in the 1994 and 1995 BTCC. The car will be finished in 1/18 scale.

So, these should be the first 1/18 BTCC models on the market?

I think there is a recent ish BMW 320 BTCC car, i forget who and which but i have seen one on eBay, pretty sure it was an autoart model too.

There were 2 1:43s from 2007 made and sold by the RAC shop last year.

Not offically in 1/18.

As AlfaFan said, 1/43 cars fom 2007 were sold through RAC, but they seemed to have stopped selling them now. I have the 2008 and 2009 cars in my collection.

they were only limited editions but I imagine if you keep looking on eBay, one will turn up sometime - be prepared to pay premiums for them though...

Ah, i thought so, i remember it now being on eBay and you saying you had bought it in a thread here or on a similar forum.

I watched it with interest through the auction, but never bid on it myself, i dont collect 1/18 scale, dont have the room. However i do have a 1/18 Rally Sierra Cosworth, and the detail is exceptional, i would imagine Alfa fan's BMW is pretty impressive.

Not at the moment. The models are being produced for the team and their sponsors, so to find one on e-bay will be extremely rare!
The only one that every made it onto e-bay (put on by a competition prize winner who obviously didn't want it) was bought back by the team!

I hope the Estate is still coming. I'm fairly sure it will be as AUTOart have already released the plain version of the car it was based upon.

I was very lucky to pre-order both Volvo's about 2 years ago for £69.99 each, I only realised yesterday they have gone up to £109.99 :eek:
