Good news for John, apparently he's been honing his skills rallying recently! It'll be good to see what John can do with a team mate like Paul giving him a hand :)

Rallying and Circuit racing are two completely different driving styles?

Some people would say that there is nothing wrong with his rally driving skills. He uses them enough already!
