View Full Version : Edit Time Out

Hello Mods,
Any chance that the timeout on editing posts could be increased a little, maybe to 30 minutes?
I know I should take more care in typing and reading what I have written before I hit the 'enter' key, but I'm impatient!
I've just reread something I posted and it doesn't really make sense (do any of my posts make sense? :) ) and I've been beaten by the 15 minute rule.
I know this isn't a democracy ( :) ) but does anyone else agree with me?
Cheers,
Old Fart.

Yeah I've been caught out before, largely because I write something, go off and do some work, then realise I've cocked up

Yeah, I've been caught out too. I spot a spelling/grammar mistake later on and it really irritates me :) . A bit longer would be handy, although I don't know what effect that'd have on quoting posts?

I agree with you. Between my piece of junk laptop with some keys that work only some of the time (my space bar is acting up terribly) and the fact that I cant type worth a darn anyway, it would be nice if we could take a little more time to go back and check, especially when I am posting from work and get interrupted by an emergency call or something

ok, ok! I've increased it to 30 minutes. But if the post is edited after 15 minutes it will have "Edited" at the bottom.

Cheers Mark, I'm going to go and make some mistakes and then rectify them after 25 minutes just because I can :D

Thanks Mark.
Why is there a limit on editing anyway?

To stop people editing old posts to add spam/inappropraite content. As it would not be a new post it wouldn't bump the thread up and would be unlikely to catch the attention of the moderators.

So is the limit 15 minutes or have you changed it to 30 as you said you would?
