Great read, and one that gives us all some hope. Would still love to see the Unions car make the field for the 500. We might want to pursue that again...

Great Article. Earl in many ways saw Indy as I did. He hated the IRL startup and "war" but he loved Indy.....

No matter where things go, Indy will find some way of surviving, but it just isn't the same as it used to be. Maybe in the future it will be BETTER....

Great read, EagleEye. Thanks for posting that.

A friend of mine turned on a reality show a year or so ago, and one of the people in it caught my interest. The guy's name was Jeff Beitzel(sic?). He was dating one of those Real Housewives of Orange County people... some cheap looking little tart named Gretchen Rossi. The reason he caught my interest was because he was apparently well known around IMS and was a BIG fan of the Indy 500. In the Real House Hos episode that I saw, he even took his squeeze/gold digger, Gretchen, to the Indy 500 a couple of years ago and had her in one of the pace cars, I believe. Jeff had leukemia(?) and has since died.

But what I wanted to know is if you knew this guy or had any awareness of him? It seems he was treated as a VIP during that show.

EagleEye, shoot me a PM if this is something you'd rather not discuss here.

Thanks.
