If nothing else, it's a chance to watch modifieds at Bowman-Gray Stadium. :)
It's a track that dates back to Nascar's inception, and been running continuously since 1948. Of the protagonists on the show, Junior Miller ran some Cup races back in the 70's with limited success.
I don't usually watch this type of reality tv, but I'll watch anything to do with racing, so I'm watching this. :D

I didn't hear good about it, but History Canada doesn't give us the same stuff as the History Channel in the US. We might get it 3 years from now, just like we now finally get Ice Road Truckers, which took place in CANADA for the first two years, but we didn't get til this last fall. Stupid right?

Well, it's reality tv, so they edit and splice scenes together with interviews to make everything over-the-top and melodramatic. Plus, they never miss a chance to show a drunk redneck fan acting the fool, but that's to be expected.
That said, I'm watching. I've got just enough redneck in me to enjoy it :D
For some reason, I think Aussies would enjoy the show too! ;)

Here's a little more serious look at Bowman Gray Stadium.

It is a place I wouldn't mind seeing a race at....although I usually don't like 1/4 mile tracks, since there just isn't much room to run, but Bowman Gray is a throwback to when racing started, so it is a different deal...

I watched it once and was pretty dissapointed with it. I saw a documentary a few months ago about racers at racers at Anderson Speedway called “Dirty Driving: ThunderCars of Indiana". It was pretty good and I thought it would be nice to see it made into a reality show. Clearly this was better in theory than practice.

I watched that show from Anderson and it just added to every stereotype the libreal rich elites think of people who drive race cars, chew tobacco and live in "flyover" country. I thought it was alright on some level, but hardly made me want to go looking for it again.
