The 2010 season of the AMA SX kicks off this weekend at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. Yamaha's James 'Bubba' Stewart will be back aboard his YZ450F to defend the crown he won in an epic battle last year against arch nemesis, Chad Reed.
For 2010, Reed has joined the (not often I can say this ;) ) powerful factory Kawasaki team to try and win back the title he lost to Stewart in 2009.
Alongside Reed on the Monster Kawasaki KX450F is young gun Ryan Villopoto, who won 2 of the final 3 rounds of the 2009 title in his rookie season. These three are the likely protagonists for the 2010 title.

Behind these three favourites is a host of fast riders. Leading them is Andrew Short who finished 3rd in 2009 and is on a Red Bull Honda alongside Davi Millsaps and both should be fast. Leading the factory Suzuki team this year is West SX Lites champion from 2009, Ryan Dungey. He will be joined by young Aussie star Matt Moss but not til later in the season as Moss is currently recovering from injury. Quick youngster Josh Hill is teammate to Stewart at Yamaha and will be looking to improve on his 10th overall from 2009. Then, there is the likes of veterans such as Kevin Windham, Ivan Tedesco and Grant Langston as well as a whole host of fast kids coming through.

It should make for a very interesting series, and one that I'm looking forward to very much.
