Wow, wasn't expecting this. Very ambitious of them to build and field a totally new car but i wish them the best of luck, always nice to see new teams coming in and trying different things.

I don't think they're building it. I think they've bought the car from a German team.

Interesting

AMD are one of the top tuners in this country, notably with Audi/VW/VAG cars

It does look good, though very Leon like. Whats the chances of complaints about top end speed due to the shape of the car lol.

Great that it is a new addition to the championship. My only worry is that the Golf hasn't been successful anywhere else..

But good luck to them. I shall be cheering them on if they come out.

Just noticed that its been allowed to run as a 3 door Golf, will it have to have any penalties applied?

Nice to see some variety in the grid, this year I think I'll support cars beginning with a 'V'

Looking forward to seeing this at media day. When was the last time a VW raced in BTCC?

Just had a look. It was 1989 when 2 Volkswagen Golfs were run by John Morris and Alan Minshaw.

I'll be supporting the AMD Golf as it's always nice to see a new type of car in the BTCC as don't think a Golf or any other VW has been in the BTCC before.

There has been but not since the 1980's with the Golf Mk1. There was also the Scirrocco that raced as well.
