Hi! IŽm a little (or too much) confused about rally car classes for 2010, 2011 and so on... I guess nowadays we have WRC (A8), N4 (Subs and Mits), S2000 and R1, R2 and R3 cars (with R3T and R3D variants), all R class cars with 2FWD (and more or less equivalents to A7, A6 N3, etc cars I suppose) Am I right?. In 2011 I suppose weŽll have S1600T (R3t with 4WD?), S2000, N4 and R1, R2 and R3 (depending on cubic centimeters), at least in homologated FIA rallyes. Is all of this right? Am I totally wrong? I would appreciate a lot any answer. Many thnx in advance... :)

I share your confusion, but think that what you've described is correct!

Thnx Petter. So we havenŽt any answers else, I suppose my standard list isnŽt far from truth, but I would ask more expert forum guys : Are future 1.6T WRC like R3T with 4WD? Is that so simple? 4WD is enough for the change one could expect from a JWRC to a WRC?

No, R3T is very simple car very close to production model. WRC 1.6T will be very similar to S2000 cars but with different engine and some other changes. In any case WRC will stay special car made straight for rallying but much simpler than recent WRC.

Thnx Mirek. Are the rest of classes apart from WRC in the way I mentioned in the first post or is anything wrong? Many thanx in advance

The situation with group R classes is not clear. So far only British championship is run under group R classes I think (S2000 and N4 are under R4 class). In the rest of the world old class system (N1-4, A5-8) is used and new group R cars are placed into some old classes.

I remember I red classification under N1-4 and A5-8 rules would be extinguished at the end of 2010 season, and then all rally cars would be classified under R rules. Is that right?

I believe that was right in the beginning, but FIA has postponed many times the reorganization of class rules. Anyway thnx both you guys :)
