Ferrari has signed Formula 3 Euro Series champion Jules Bianchi to a long-term deal.

Ferrari confirmed that Bianchi is "part of the group of Ferrari drivers," elaborating that he has signed a "multi-year contract" similar to the one that saw Felipe Massa make his way into F1 in 2002 and eventually secure a race seat with the Italian team.

Not sure about that, I think Sauber have their own plans for drivers to be honest. I'm not ruling it out completely, but I doubt it.

Agreed. Ferrari have such a stodgy image despite the great road cars they produce.

And he is one of the three or four top lower formula drivers around.

If I recall correctly his grandfather was the Belgian f1 driver Lucien Bianchi that was killed at Le Mans in 1969.

Not impossible he might endure a massaesque career in F1 as a result as well: first spend a few years at Sauber-Ferrari from 2011 onwards before reaching the Ferrari team. :cool:
