Huge investment secured to retain venue

Melbourne Airfield Sunday 13th December 2009:

Bolton-Le-Moors Car Club in association with Trackrod Motor Club will be hosting the Neil Howard Memorial Stages Rally 2009 on the 13th December 2009 at Melbourne Airfield, Yorkshire (105 / 762 428). The National B permit event will retain its popular format of scrutineering on the Saturday with the first car starting stage one at 09:30 on the Sunday. The event is being supported by Elliot Hire (Cabins & welfare facilities).
The event is a qualifying round of:
· ANCC Stage Rally Championship (Final round)
· ANWCC Stage Rally Championship (Final round)
· SD34 M.S.G Stage Rally Championship (Final round)
All three championships remain in the balance & look likely to be decided at the Neil Howard Memorial Stages Rally.

Since last years event, Bolton-Le-Moors Car Club together with Trackrod Motor Club & North Humberside Motor Club, have reached an agreement with the land owner at Melbourne Airfield & have invested a significant amount of money to secure the continued use of Melbourne Airfield for the three clubs for the next five years. This investment together with the Club Development Fund to be provided by the MSA will be spent to significantly improve the surfaces / access road around the venue. This deal will result in a new surface being laid over approx half a kilometre of the airfield immediately together with a barrier system being put in place to protect the livestock sheds and also sees the continued investment over the term of the five years to further develop / improve the airfield.

Entries for the 55 mile event are still available at the reduced rate of £200.00 before 30th November & £230.00 from 30th November until the closing date of 8th December. Excellent news and thanks to those involved for securing this venue for the foreseeable future! Melbourne has had it's detractors in the past but the work that's being done will hopefully adress the issues that some have complained about. Better wrap up warm for the 13th...
