The fifth FIA European Touring Car Cup is at Braga in Portugal next weekend.

I didn't want it to slip under the radar here, as a couple of BTCC regulars are on the entry list- James Thompson with the Hartmann Honda Accord he's been racing in Denmark this year, and Harry Vaulkhard with the Bamboo Engineering Lacetti (plus a second car for Portuguese driver Duarte Felix da Costa)

Eurosports usual quality coverage normally.... (and looks like it will be again with their logo all over the site)

first link point 7 it says eurosport will broadcast race live. ;)

will be an interesting race on a circuit ive never seen before (or even heard of!)

17 entries so far and i hope for more but good car varieties-a focus ST, lacetti, accord, civic, 320i, golf, leon all on the list. Ill be rooting for Thompson ofcourse, hopefully a good couple of races in store!

Eurosport have been covering this race for the past few race since the inception of the race. It was introduced after the European championship was upgraded to world status as a one off event to unite cars from the various S2000 championships all over Europe, maintaining the crowning of a European champion.

Congratulations to James Thompson on winning the 2009 European Touring Car Cup!
Thompson got a 3rd and a 1st to beat Franz Engstler to the title. Apparently in race 2 (unfortunately I missed it all!) he raced from 11th to 1st in his Hartmann Racing Honda Accord. James Thompson is the first man to attempt to race in every single touring car championship in the universe in one season, he's doing a good job! :D

Harry was actually leading (and I believe would have won the Cup) but under pressure from Thompson he threw it off in the final corner

well done to Thommo! huge shame for Vaulkard, but James did an excellent job from 11th to 1st-Britain has another champion!

Despite being wet most of the time, we had great races, with Accords, Lacettis, Leons and Engstler's BMW with very leveled paces. This picture was taken at Turn 1 on Lap 2 of the first race...

It was also fun to see those crazy guys driving the FIAT Unos and Puntos iof National Trophies...
