Don't see the benefits of 128 bit just right now. The potential of 64 bit computing has barely been tapped.

Definately more towards the future, and is more geared towards Government, (especially the military and their contractors, federal law enforcement, space agency, etc.) major businesses involved in R & D projects, and Universities involved in all types of research.

Wouldn't be too suprised if, when it does make its introduction, the entities mentioned earlier get first use of it before it comes to the consumer market.

What is the difference between 128 bit software compared to 64 bit software?

Desktop PC's will be the last to implement this. The big advantage is in servers, we have entirely 64-bit machines in our server room, many of them having 8GB of RAM as standard, which you couldn't get with 32-bit.
