F1 : Sebastain Vettel disputes Singapore Formula 1 speeding penalty (http://www.f1sa.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17712&Itemid=219)
Sebastian Vettel does not think he sped in the Formula One pit lane last Sunday in Singapore. The Red Bull driver's already slight championship chances

i find it odd that they time the car and not use radar

Now that is odd! Clearly based on the on-board data the car did not go past the speed limit at any point and with the system based on timing a section to check average speed its very possible that the "speeding" was as a result of a different line through the curving pit lane.

Its not like they can change the race result now, but I do hope they learn from this and use a good old fashioned gatso! ;) :p :

I don't understand why they can't use the onboard telemetry since the cars all use a standard ECU.

It's ironic because you're fond of Nigel Mansell, who complained chronically.
