Reputation is earned when someone thinks enough of your posts to click on the little scale icon and give you feedback. The small square under your name turns green --- the more positive reputation you get, the larger number of green squares.

You can also give/receive negative feedback. Too much will turn the small squares red.

Of course, you have to turn on your reputation in your user CP.
If the admin hasn't activated reputation --- don't worry about it.

How can you provide negative feedback to reduce reputation?

When you click the scale icon, a box opens.

You can choose "I approve" which gives good reputation.
OR
You can choose "I disapprove" which gives bad reputation.

I'm an admin at a forum that uses VB3

I've been giving everyone in the Nascar forum a good rep for sh*ts & giggles, and in return, I'm hoping for the same.

What's really bothering me is that mark and all of his F1 buds have cool descriptions about themselves under their names and the icons are green while the rest of us have gray icons and it lists us as a "unknown quantity".

At the very least...Stan should be listed as a "posting god", or something similar! :D

Unless someone's post is about the confirmation that they have transferred money to my bank account, they aren't worthy of my rep buttonism.

So much negative rep, then you get banned??

I think its a bad idea and I dont see the point of it. Instead of promoting a sense of community it promotes an elitist aspect. It reminds me of Dr Seuss' famous tale of the star belly sneetches.

The only people who have user titles are admins, moderators and pickems winners (and a few others who've won other competitions). No user user titles exists.

Certainly 'all' of my 'F1 buds' don't have them :s

I completely agree with you 100%. Ironically, I have bestowed upon you an elitist positive rep response for it.

I've changed the reputation points to make it twice as difficult.

It might be because i haven't woken up properly yet, but reading the thread title, all i hear are words from that great poet Haddaway:

What is love
Oh baby, don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more
Oh, baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me no more

And it almost fits with the thread. :D

Can you explain how many points = how many gold pages ?
What is the maximum amount of gold pages ?

I'm yet to figure it out myself. Unfortunately vBulletin has provided no documentation on the issue. I guess they think we must just take a guess as to what it all means?

Until it gets figures out, then why dont you go back to the way it was at first instead of making it difficult?

Tina, go to User CP and its just below your subscribed threads on the right side of the page....or maybe if nobody has given you any reps yet it may not show anything!

"You have given too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later."
It doesn't matter if it has been 48 hours or more, you can't give rep now. :s

Fingers, move away from the keyboard. The mind reels with possibilities.
